This is what I find so annoying about Farke, he doesn’t change anything depending on who we are playing, he was again out coached last night
It's because he's limited, we are facing these sort of tactics more and more but he has no answer. The final ball is mostly woeful, Rothwell scored a few screamers for Soton last season, can't recall him having a dig yet, is that because he's instructed not to. Systems not working, so what does he do, brings on like for like subs, then we end up.playing 3 forwards in a let's just hope it works theory. It's a very poor league this season, the quality of opposition is very low, you can add us to that list. If we don't beat QPR Saturday then for me he should go, he's just not up to it. I see we're 1 point better off than same number of games than last season but think we're down on corresponding fixtures.
Couple of weeks back we had four fixtures upcoming that promised the chance of a really good points haul.Included in that was a very average Bristol, abysmal Plymouth and the dog and duck last night. QPR to come. Even with a win that'll be seven out of twelve and quite frankly not near good enough. Ten should have been doable
Too many players not on it yesterday, poor touch and final pass. Some of that we can put down to the pressure on the ball they put on us. Some of it was just off days for our better performers. Lack of width was frustrating, how many times did firpo turn inside… instructions to recycle the ball or just too many defenders? Ultimately the first goal is critical in these games. We can bitch at the manager and some of it’s justified but sides set up to frustrate us, and it’s very hard to break down well organised sides that park the bus… whoever you are.
Agreed, last season we had Summerville who pulled us out the **** with his solo trademark, you can see that Farke is just hoping for a moment of brilliance and an individual effort rather than team. The squad we have should be steam rolling over the majority of the opposition in this division, that's not me being pig headed about being better than everyone else, it's simply stating a fact that Farke has been given a better set of tools than everyone else and not knowing how to use them. My fear is if he slips up again this season, we lose more players and the next guy in will have a greater struggle. Everyone knew how Millwall would play, how they would line up, that they would try to disrupt our game, look for set pieces, what does Farke do, play the exact same way we do every week and when it doesn't work changes nothing Ringo summed it up, if they tried to go toe to toe and play us at our own game they would have been KO'd, they have a coach who actually knows how to set a team up based on the opposition they are playing
The best managers know how and when to use subs. McKenna showed the way last season, when will Farke realise?
If getting your players to dive, cheat, fall over with fake head injury, time waste and leave cheap little kicks on people then yes he was out coached. The only footballing tactic I saw Harris use was to hoof long and high or buy fouls from an incompetent ref near our box.
It worked though and that’s all that matters in the end. Harris sets his team up according to their strengths, on a limited budget. That’s all he can do tbf.
If you count what I described as football then I concede you’re right. I can live with the hoof ball tactic but the other stuff should be picked up by the ref.
