Half a team of ex-Charlton? Please give me the run down of players that used to play for Charlton? I can think of two, and one of them was only there for around half a year on loan, before being called back and then loaned to a club that won promotion whilst you, urm... got relegated. So again, like I said before, all you have is attendances, before the "original" insults take place, because you have no real solid debate. another question for you to ponder over. when was the last time Charlton were in Europe? Last time you were at Wembley? What I think really gets on Charlton's tits is the fact that the "oh so great club" that they had, premier league football, Alan Curbishley, 30,000 fans (shipped in from the home counties, mind) has all gone to pot. And in the mean time, that "little club" down the road has got its act together and has somehow got themselves into a better position, on the pitch and financially, and you can taste the jealousy. They hate it! And the worst thing of all is, coz we had to take the years of bollocks that they gave us about how **** we were, now we are giving it back, they dont like it.
It's all good- we've had our decline. If you haven't noticed we have sunk a lot lower as a club before and bounced back to Premiership football for what, 7 years? You've reached your maximum- thats something I would be scared of. As a club our foundations are a lot stronger, as is the infrastructure. Your a club hitting higher than 90% of your potential. We are less than 30%. We'll give you a wave and a match with a proper crowd (for once) on our way back to the top. VROOOOOOOOOOM
Insults? They're not insults, they're observations, the only reason anybody dislikes Millwall (other than local rivalries) is because of your teams association with thuggish acts of violence, player-abuse and racism Does that make you proud? Jealousy is not the word to describe how we feel, because we know we have the potential to get back to how we were. Your clubs ambition seems to be to coast along in the Championship and maybe one day take a sniff of the Premier League. Our owners (who by the looks of things have a fair bit of money - we're not "financially unstable" as you said) have stated that they want us back in the Premier League as soon as possible, with every player coming in having said they joined us for our ambition and want to play in the Premier League. Millwalls 'taunting' of our current league position is in no way a response to how we used to treat you, it is instead a response to the little stiffy you all get in your underpants when you think of how you survived a year in the Championship.
You've reached your maximum- thats something I would be scared of. As a club our foundations are a lot stronger, as is the infrastructure. Your a club hitting higher than 90% of your potential. We are less than 30%. ........................................................................................................................... How can you have strong foundations when you have lost 65% of your fanbase in 4 seasons? I would say your foundations have crumbled, and the rescue attempt at the moment is trying to stop the sinking, not rebuild it
Foundations are that despite being in League One our fan base is still greater than yours. Should we get promoted then again those numbers rise. My point was our foundations are stronger than yours- that's not an inaccurate statement. And to stop sinking would be to sign players who are readily available to consolidate our position in our league. In fact, we have signed players who are good enough for the Championship (and ones that have rejected clubs of a higher level) Millwall's work is done, we are just starting.
In fact, we have signed players who are good enough for the Championship ................................................................................................................................................ Which player is that then? Taylor, Stephens, Green, Evina, and Wiggins have never played outside the 3rd tier. Alonso couldn't get a game for Tenerife who finished bottom of Spains 2nd tier and Paul Hayes has scored 74 goals in his 11 year career, but only 2 of those were in the Championship!!
Enjoy league 1 ****ers cos that's where you are staying. You could have 50,000 anoraks and 10,000 wall and we would still be louder and prouder than you happy clappy trainspotting cocks ENOUGH SAID
We beat off Championship competition for Stephens, Green (reportedly Premier League competition), Wiggins and Hayes. Hayes isn't an out and out striker, he's a link-up man, who plays behind the main striker, so that explains his low goal haul.
Enjoy Championship because thats where you WONT be staying Back to League One soon for you. Pride? Proud of what - a team infamous for a history of violence and abuse? Ironically, the only trainspotters I can ever remember seeing in my life have been standing at the end of London Bridge platforms, suspiciously close to a certain South London teams ground
So emotional. You guys will always be chuffed with Championship football and you know it. Louder? As for players, Stephens rejected two Championship clubs, Green 1 premiership and several championship. As for strikers, lets not go there. You just signed Darius Henderson to replace Morison. I know who I would want out of Hayes and Henderson....
TC, Have you borrowed the Nigel's Cheerleaders then? Although?? they seem to have a very high opinion of themselves I'm not sure how much Wood they would generate?
I rate Wood, but I know who I would rather. 0-3.
