Williams booked As clear as day this one because Watmore broke from a corner and completely outsprinted the Scouser who just hung onto him and ensured he didn't get away. Stroud eventually blowing his whistle on halfway.
McNamara boots one into the stands Flemming sent in a long throw and amid some considerable jostling inside the box, Dickie took charge to head it away. McNamara was waiting outside the area and tried an ambitious left-footed volley but it went so so far over O'Leary's goal. Almost like an up-and-under in rugby.
City work an opening! But it comes to nothing! Bell nicked the ball off Hutchinson after a heavy touch by the Millwall defender and adavnced on goal. It looked like he was caught in two minds whether to pass or shoot and he took the former option but his ball into Wells was short. It was then played back to the striker and he rolled a pass into Williams but his attempt was charged down as Millwall scrambled their way back into shape.
Wells shot deflected wide! What an ugly goal this would have been. James' corner found Sykes on his own at the far post and in the process about three players had fallen to the deck. The Irishman shot into that mass of bodies, it then looped up to Wells whose follow-up was deflected behind. Unfortunately from the cornerm Millwall are able to clear.
City want a penalty Wells flicked a long ball forward by O'Leary into the path of Bell who looked to be tripped by McNamara as he tried to spring onto the ball. Stroud is having none of it, though.
Bit of a waste City have a big break on with Wells sprinting forward but he's a little lacking in options and by the time Bell and Knight join him, Cooper is able to step across and win the ball back. That said the City striker maybe held onto it a little too long. Easy to say from up here, I guess.
More pressure Knight (who's really good in the air) wins a header to send Wells free down the right. He fizzes in one cross which finds its way to Pring. He sends in another, which finds its way to Knight. He sends in a third and this time the Lions clear.
Brilliant defending by Pring Watmore had made a late run into the box and was spotted by Mitchell who stood up a diagonal intended for the forward. Pring legged it across from his left-back position to get their first though.
The half-time whistle goes! And the home fans are FUMING with Keith Stroud because De Norre was on the move, over halfway and with pitch ahead of him. City had men back but warning signs were definitely flashing. The referee is promptly booed off.
First-half player ratings Max O'Leary - 6 George Tanner - 6 Zak Vyner - 7 Rob Dickie - 7 Cam Pring - 6 Matty James - 7 Joe Williams - 6 Jason Knight - 7 Mark Sykes - 6 Nahki Wells - 6 Sam Bell - 6
We are the better side-should have had a penalty- wells causing issues-should be winning this game but we are not that concerns me.
I finally got the live feed about 30 seconds before the 1st half ended. We look fairly good early in the 2nd but need to keep focused if we want any more points from this neck of the woods.
was thinking about the added on time .. there must be a digital record .. cant just be the kit men from each team with a pencil and paper writing down the oppositions time wasting! .... So I wonder if at some point a table of which teams get the most minutes awarded against their actions!
Stats say we’ve had 57% possession and 12 shots But as per usual in these games not one single shot on target Not good enough again If you can’t get shots on target you won’t win games I take it all back ! Unexpected 3 points well done Nige and the boys
