Excellent post Bath. I was listening to the commentary on Radio Norfolk and not only should we have had a 2nd penalty, but they also said that the Millwall player fell like he'd been shot and should never have been a penalty. That 2 goal swing could be really significant at the end of the season!!!!

Tough to be honest. A dodgy decision could well cost a lot of money, clubs don't get relegated because of poor refs however. The only instance would be a play off match, my view then is you should have been good enough to go up automatically.

I'm not against video, I'm just against ref bashing. Its boring and is just excuse making to cover player frailties. Like I say people only remember the mistakes and everybody makes them.

I just don't get this way of thinking, I really don't. Why should bad decisions that everyone else in the ground apart from the ref can see remain "part of the game" when there are options available to assist the officials? The game is much, much faster than it has ever been so I do understand that the ref's job is harder than it has ever been, so why not help them out?

As has been said, football is a massive multi-million pound industry these days, with tens of thousands of fans at games and hundreds of thousands, if not millions, more at home wanting their team to win. Players at this level are highly skilled, highly paid, dedicated athletes with a God given talent that they have worked their arses off to hone and improve to play at this level so why on earth should games be in the hands of a former geography teacher from Droitwich who has never kicked a football in anger in his life?

Can't think of many other popular sports that don't take advantage of technology these days, and I know we use it for goal line decisions, but how often does that happen compared to the number of blatant howlers that could also be avoided with replays?

I think if the clubs grouped with sky and the sponsors to demand changes to the governance of referees the FA would have it done by the end of the week. I know they can't influence video tech but where they can make changes they should be more pro active. It would markedly increase people's opinion of them too.

Kind of agree. It is often used as an excuse, although it can change a game, especially sendings off. I am all for video replays and it makes perfect sense if it minimises incorrect decisions. But also ref bashing can get ridiculous, players dont help by appealing for everything. Refs make far fewer errors then players.

What's the rule on retrospective punishments for cheaters? Can a player be fined or suspended if video shows a blatant dive or misleading actions that get another player sent off. Sure I read that FA and PL won't look at such evidence.

Just seen the highlights of the Boro vs Ipswich game on the Football League Show and Boro have 2 stonewall penalty shouts (one which should be a red card for the Ipswich last man) and the referee doesn't give either. How on Earth do a bunch of thugs like Ipswich get away with it (surely even suspicion of a foul should be incriminating with Ipswich) whilst we get sweet FA from the refs.

I'm just glad it didn't stop Ipswich getting the hiding they deserved.

Now I've just highlights of our game, it looks to me like a Derby player is literally holding onto one of Ruddy's arms as that corner comes in! So he has to try and catch the ball over his head with just one hand, it is no wonder he can only flap it in. Derby got away with one there and once again we've been robbed of points!
