Malky says Maynard has a ligament problem which will be scanned tomorrow. As I said on another thread this is where our depth of squad will come into its own with chances for Mason and Veronica - who I think will do well particularly if playing off HH. May need to hang on to Earnie now if Maynard's injury is long term. Where is Gestede? I guess Maynard got booed by the local yokels because he is ex-West Ham and no love lost there.
If he'd played for wh for years maybe, but for the sake of 17 games I still think that was pretty classless.
Is that what you get when you sell your soul for £100M of Malaysian money? Not bad. Very good side player for player at this level. Definitely tipped for promotion. Shame that money seems to reign supreme in this game now.
We're like dyslexic devil worshipers. We sold our soul to santa...... ......and all our Christmases are coming at once. 10 nice presents.
6 games, 3 clean sheets and only one blank on our part. With 6 different goalscorers already, we're going to be a difficult team to NIL.
Lots of players who can realistically score 15 a season plus in our squad whereas we struggled for one who could do that last year.
Sounded like another solid performance against what is can only be classed as a poorish team, but a hard place to go and get a win. Over the moon with the result, plus i got the score right for once. Happy days ahead methinks.
Bora Da guys n gals...........whats the latest on Nicky Maynard? heared he had a bad knock last night...cruciate ligaments?.....bad injury for the lad if thats true. Takes the edge off the result a bit doe'snt it (we had 2 stretchered off ourselves!) Well done on the win last night btw.......
Oh ok .........good luck to the lad, he had a similar serious injury a few seasons back with us and was out for months.
No quick way back from cruciate, be absolutely gutted for him (and us) if it's serious. Who were your 2 stretchered off?
Met City's new Marketing & Promotions Manager, Tom Gorringe, this morning at a networking meeting. He was at last night's game (about 600 City fans there). He had nothing official on Maynard but the view last night was that he had hyper extended his knee. He thought 2/3 games out but nothing too serious. We await the scan results in hope.
Stevo They are a dour bunch of commentators though. It makes me wonder sometimes. How do they get their wives excited !!
Ha ha. Is it just me or do they always manage to make it sound like the other team are battering us, with every half hearted shot described as though it's skimmed the post or forced a wonder save. Whereas our attacks are met with something verging on silence followed by a slightly excited "cardiff have scored"
Yes, I thought that listening to the first half hour on Radio Wales. Sounded like we were getting battered. Underwhelmed is my view of their "expert" commentators.
Sounds like its the other knee. Not the one he previously injured. Could still be a long spell on the sidelines. We lose Maynard we bring in Bellamy or Mason. Other teams will have injury blows but I doubt they will have our strength in depth.
Evening guys......so fingers crossed for NM then. Hopefully not as bad as first thought. Could never wish ill on any player, whatever the history is with him and my team Stevoldinho....we lost Cole Skuse, our midfielder to an ankle injury. Two stud puncture wounds apparently so a few weeks there, and we lost our left back Greg Cunningham to a "tackle" that would of sent you or me to prison for common assault!.......too early to assess but could be ligament damage or even a fracture so not good there.
