Millwall are among many teams in the Championship who will be looking to keep in and around the top six as the season develops, currently sitting 11th in the table.

Gary Rowett’s side have proven hard to beat in recent weeks, losing just one of their last eight matches, and in that spell came four victories in succession – which PNE will be looking to achieve themselves this weekend.

Having finished eighth, 11th and ninth in their previous three campaigns respectively, the Lions will be hoping this can be their year to make that final push towards the Play-Off spots.

    Going Head To Head

    Games played: 70
    PNE wins: 25
    Draws: 13
    Millwall wins: 32
Last PNE victory: Millwall 1-3 PNE, 23rd February 2019

There was tons of excitement surrounding the arrival of Dutch attacker Zian Flemming when he arrived at The Den in the summer for an undisclosed fee – quickly being nicknamed the ‘Bermondsey Bergkamp’.

The Ajax Academy product had scored a combined 24 goals in his previous two seasons with Fortuna Sittard, so it appeared to be something of a coup when he was announced as a Millwall player.

Although it perhaps took him a few weeks to get into his stride in the English game, he’s now looking like the talent everyone hoped for, and he enjoyed a purple patch either side of the September international break when he scored five goals in as many games.

Oliver Langford will referee his second PNE game of the season on Saturday.

His previous North End fixture was the 0-0 draw at home to Rotherham United, and he was also set to take charge of the trip to Norwich City in October, but was replaced by Dean Whitestone in the days leading up to the game.

So far this season, he’s shown 55 yellow cards and one red in 15 matches, and he will be assisted on Saturday by Robert Merchant and James Wilson, with Seb Stockbridge on fourth official duty.

We've hit a decent bit of form winning the last three games sadly though after Saturday we have a three week holiday due to a World Cup being played at the wrong time of the year in a country that shuld never have been awarded it in the first place, but hey money talks eh.
Millwall as always will be a tough team to play against with some big lads at the back. They have had issues finding the net in the last couple of games but that's not unusual is it. Be nice to sign off with a win before the visit to Bleakburn sometime next month

Preston North End 2 Hughes Evans Millwall 4 Flemming 3 Cresswell

PNE starting XI: Woodman; Storey, Lindsay, Hughes (Maguire, 78); Potts, Ledson, Browne (Woodburn, 67), McCann, Brady (Fernández, 67); Evans (Johnson, 77), Riis. Subs not used: Cornell, Cunningham, Diaby.

Millwall starting XI: Long; McNamara, Cresswell, Cooper, Wallace; Saville (Styles, 85), Mitchell; Voglsammer (Shackleton, 85), Flemming (Bennett, 88, Honeyman (Malone, 53); Bradshaw (Burey, 88). Subs not used: Bialkowski, Evans.

    Attendance: 15,184 (662 away fans).

    Referee: Mr O Langford.

Gary Rowett duly keep his unbeaten run against North End, and it was his tactica change after five minutes of the second half which probably was the turning point Malone on for Honeyman and they went 343 and from then on in we disappeared as an attacking force.
Before the start of te game all the players had disappeared from the pitch except for Millwall's Zian Flemming who was having free kick practice from 30 yards aswe were to find out he was geting his eye in.
16 minutes after kick off two down both to Flemming, the first had the ball wit his back to goal swivelled found a gap and fired home, not the ideal start, got worse, free kick 20 yards out, there was a gap were the Millwall players had lft Flemming potted that one as well
Never mind by the time 30 minutes was up we were level, Hughes apparently got the final touch at a corner and his cross to the back post found Evans whose header found the net although would probably have to questuion Long's postioning in the Millwall goal.
Had chances to be ahead by half time didn't take them. Level at half time and by far the most entertaining 45 minutes we have had a Deepdale this season.
Three great chances at the start of the second period, Riis ball to Evans clear shot on goal, drags it just wide, McCann forces Long to save with his foot and then Evans puts in a cross shot which no one was able to get a touch on.
On comes Malone and the rest is history, just after the hour McNaara leaves Brady for dead, his ball across the box is behind everyone apart from Flemming who collects the ball leves a defender on his arse before casually scoring in the bottom right hand corner, three for the Dutchman.
If the defending for that wasn't great the fourth was utterly woeful, not say they switched off at a corner but the two Millwall players had no one within 20 yards of them, easy cross into the box, Cresswell heads home. Now this is were you start feeling old he is the son of Richard Cresswell who played for us under David Moyes
Our substitutions were as inefffective as ever and we never even remotely like pulling back the two goals and that's it until the middle of December
We are ninth needs reinforcements in January.

Preston manager Ryan Lowe told BBC Radio Lancashire:

"I haven't dissected it all just yet. Obviously disappointed and frustrated - we knew what was coming as Millwall are a handful in everything they do.

"Then the goals are criminal. I'm disappointed with the goals, because that's not us, is it?

"I told the group not to go out in the second half and do anything silly, just do the basics right and find a way.

"I thought we started brightly, had a couple of chances and then we get done by a ball in behind with the lad standing in there on his own for the ball being pulled back for the third. Then the fourth we switched off at a corner, allowed them to play the ball short and we lost our man at the back.

"We played some good stuff but you have to put the ball in the back of the net.

"I've showed the lads the goals, as we have a good group of lads who put their hands up - they make mistakes. We complicated things in our patterns of play instead of doing the basics right.

    Millwall manager Gary Rowett:

"I thought the game swung in terms of control and pressure several times.

"It sums up this crazy Championship and the top end of it is settled by real quality.

"We have managed to find that in Zian. I thought there was a contentious goal (Preston's first) if I'm honest - the player holds George Long's arm.

"We started to step off, be nervous and they took control of the game. I was really disappointed at half-time.

"We needed to be the team to show that desire to win the game, because that was what was going to win it for one team. I had to change formation and that gave us more grip."
