There's no doubt that the top half of the SPL, your Celtics, Rangers and Hearts (maybe Hibs) would do alright in the Championship (certainly they'd make a better fist of it than we are currently doing), but the bottom half is League 1 at best. Tony Andreau, who was smashing it at Hamilton, moved to Norwich with Alex Neil, couldn't get close to what he was achieving there. But then you get players like Andy Robertson and John McGinn. What I do like about the SPL is the path to the first team made for youngsters. They have youth coaching there down to a tee.
I was meaning the Championship as a whole is a better standard than SPL. Certainly Celtic and now Rangers would hold their own, but Heart and Hib these days are worse teams than they were 10 years ago, and IMO would struggle over a season in the Championship.the rest Div 1 at best. Fair point about the track for the youngsters, but I think that is just a matter of necessity, rather than by design. Of cause, by the law of averages you are going to get some individual players who turn out to be EPL standard, but these days the good ones making the grade seem to be much less than before.
Someone's excited for a return to Scotland(?) Might just be excited for another Fortnite update or something like that tbf, wouldn't surprise me.....
