Looks like the drinks are on Mikey. http://www.themag.co.uk/2017/09/mik...fc-latest-profits-announced-newcastle-united/ Nice to see he still knows how to make a penny.
This would explain why Rafa's money wasn't forthcoming. With some revenue from player sales deferred, we are probably looking at a better January than most are predicting.
You could read anything into this on the impact on the club and the crappy transfer window this Summer. Bottom line is if he had wanted to protect his investment he could have fronted up some cash as a loan and taken it back later but he gambled he didn't need to. He might be proved right at the end of the season but you can guarantee if we are doing okay by end December he isn't going to invest to allow us to push on.
I used to think you'd drawn the "short" straw (see what I did there) when it comes to ownership of a footy club - though Ashley was awful and Short was much better (although not great but better than Ashley) - would happilyswap owners with you in a heartbeat now!!
Steady on, he is still a massive twatbag. Is it too much to ask for two well supported clubs to actually have a good owner?
