No, not a transfer rumour. Mikey probably wouldn’t pay the wages never mind the fee.

Quite horrendous story and how Mikel played I do not know but for in British terms a pretty small sum. I know it’s a lot but not I would guess in ransom terms.

Regardless of what else may be claimed to be wrong with this country at least we don’t have this to worry about.

We would send in the great negotiator Lee Charnley if it was one of our players dads. He would end up with a box of body parts but a much reduced ransom fee before finally getting what was left of the dad back in the last hour of the negotiation window.

Hang on. Are we suggesting that going after a £20m odd rated striker who the likes of Spurs, West Ham have been credited with an interest in, is now not good enough for Newcastle? I don't expect us to get him as he will likely have better options than us, but I'd be happy to roll the dice with him. To be honest I think we should try and sign Balotelli too. Again not much hope of that, but we need to explore all avenues.

He has not been very prolific in a poor weak league and at £27 million is a bit of a risk for me!

I would however take the risk on Balotelli but he is NOT rafas kind of player!

Its not easy is it. Thing is its not my money so I don't actually mind what the price tag is but if we do have a limited budget its a risk spending 27m on one player.

See that Jorgensen. We where linked for £25m and I honestly thought he was a cart horse at the world cup.
