I'm preying he's going to **** off to rangers but suspect he's going to end up loaning players to rangers and that it could be many years until we see the back of the bastard

It looks like Ashley is facing a big battle to get control of Rangers, Park Group who own 20% of shares have offered to loan Rangers money without the need to have Ibrox secured against it, however, they also want 2 members on the board so it looks like the Rangers saga is going to get "dirty ". Comment I read said it appears that Ashley may have been out outmaneuvered this time.

The devious twat is pushing the price up all the time.
Either way Mikey will make money from Rangers, indirect or direct.
He'll get what he wants or sell his shares at a massive profit....
So more money in his coffers no matter what.

He only owns 8.92% of shares so who's going to be paying him mega bucks for them, especially as Rangers at the moment are a basket case.

Some Rangers fans are absolute nutcases. Piss them off and he will need to watch his back.

I see that Rangers board have accepted an offer of a £10m loan from....wait for it.....no not Mike Ashley.

The loan is from a Sports Direct.

"The loan will be secured against Murray Park, Edmiston House, Albion Car Park - but not Ibrox Stadium. Sports Direct will also receive 26% of the share capital in Rangers Retail Limited and the proceeds of future shirt sponsorship for loan's duration."

In return for the loan, Ashley can nominate another 2 directors onto the board.

Can't quite figure out what this guy is up to now like. Can't quite figure out the Rangers board/major shareholders either. Some don't seem too happy with Ashley's appointments to the board thus far and have tried (in vain) to have them replaced, and they've also had multiple offers of cash from elsewhere but all been turned down.

Hopefully someone on here can explain it all, unless it's as clear as mud to everyone else.

He is circumventing the SFA's restrictions on dual ownership. In effect, he is using Sports Direct to gain ownership of Rangers. The loan will allow Sports Direct to gain 27% share capital. I suspect he may be trying to gain control of Rangers through Sports Direct whilst he tries to sell us. The alternative is that he wants to retain control of us whilst having ownership of Rangers. I could be wrong?

That's a hell of a loophole if that's what he's doing and being allowed to do it.

Watch this space I guess !

It's a massive loophole if I am right. He will have 4 board members in place so has considerable clout at AGM's and EGM's. Ashley has a lot of power at Rangers now. It's telling that Sports Direct will take up shirt sponsorship from 2017/18. Coinciding with a Rangers return to the Champions League perhaps?

    We're in ****-street.

The **** has us by the balls, you have no idea.

Mike Ashley Sports Holdings (MASH) owns Rangers Retail, which is part owned by RFC. If you spend £10 in a Rangers shop, RFC get 75p, the rest goes to RR, in turn goes to MASH.

We owe him £10m with no way of paying it off. We have no access to CL football, and the fans are boycotting Ibrox and Rangers merchandise. So effectively, we will go into admin, he's got security over 90% of our assets, only Ibrox isn't being used (yet) and he'll then own our assets and we will limp from season to season, hamstrung because the fat man wants to make money, he doesn't want the glory of propelling a big club to glory, he is using NUFC and RFC as his pension.

We have no way of knowing his intentnions, he's never spoken publicly about why he wants Rangers, and the fans (90% anyway) want him gone.

They are talking about fking over his SD shops, human barricades and the likes, but the bottom line is, he just doesn't care.

Careful now, you'll be told you're ungrateful like us. NUFC has been a soulless vessel for **** knows how years now. I accept we are in better financial shape, and that he has done some good whilst here. The **** promised to **** off after the big fall out, but he has never shown any inkling that he might do so.

    Aye he's a proper ****house.

What the Mike Ashley deal REALLY means: He’s got control of the lot – and all for just £2million

THE Sports Direct tycoon now owns security over Murray Park, Albion Car Park, Edmiston House, copyright of the badge and 75 per cent of retail – suddenly the puzzle of last year has become a whole lot clearer.

MIKE ASHLEY’S iron grip on Ibrox has just tightened to the extent it could strangle hopes of a rebirth under new owners.

It seems the only revenue stream in the district he doesn’t control is the turnover from the chip shop on the Copland Road.

For the total sum of £5million he now holds all the club’s crown jewels in his big, Cockney hands, with the exception of Ibrox Stadium.

He may have decided to let that be - for now - but still holds security over Murray Park, the Albion Car Park, Edmiston House and the copyright of the club’s trademarks, including the badge.

He can also appoint an additional two new directors to add to his placement on the board, Derek Llambias and Barry Leach, although the latter has never been officially confirmed as an Ashley representative.

Crucially, Ashley has also negotiated an additional 26 per cent in Rangers Retail Limited, taking Sports Direct’s total stake in the subsidiary company to 75 per cent.

In effect, he can now do whatever he likes with the club’s retail wing - including renegotiating contracts, already weighed heavily in his favour, to boost the coffers of Sports Direct still further.

Rangers Retail Limited will also benefit from the sale of shirt sponsorship from 2017, swelling an already bloated bottom line.

Oh, and while he’s at it, Ashley has ensured Rangers’ share of the £1.6m dividend due from the current retail contract, around £800,000, will be repaid to Sports Direct for the privilege of shutting unprofitable Rangers Shops.

    Douglas Park

The £5m Ashley has pledged, ahead of Thursday’s payday, will be used to repay the £3m loan he forwarded the club late last year.

Basically, for an additional £2m, the Newcastle United owner has seized control over Murray Park, registered trade marks, an additional 26 per cent of the retail joint venture and control of shirt sponsorship deals from 2017.

Ashley has also set aside an additional £5m in loans which, if the status quo remains, will surely be drawn upon before the first crocus pops its head above the grass on the roundabout at Edmiston Drive in spring.

At the forthcoming general meeting Dave King and the Three Bears are expected to gather enough support from the rank and file to overthrow the current board and replace it with men in whom fans will have greater trust.

They can repay the loans and undo much of Ashley’s dealings on Black Tuesday, but a long-term equity solution still requires 75 per cent shareholder approval.

The Easdales represent a proxy vote greater than 25 per cent - suddenly, the future of the club as a fan friendly enterprise could be in the hands of the bus bosses from Greenock.

They voted against resolution nine at the recent agm, which would have removed the need for such a large percentage of stockholder approval.

Many scratched their heads in bemusement at their move that cold, December afternoon. Now? It’s all beginning to make perfect sense.

    We do mate.

That's even more fked up. Our old owner racked up huge debts to Lloyds, some £800m through is 'crumbling' business empire which had borrowed during the boom years.

Rangers owed Lloyds £18m, although it was through Murray International Holdings. Some crook borrowed money to buy Rangers, condition being that they paid off Lloyds. The old owner accepted to "save" his business empire... guess what went tits-up last week?

Murray International Holdings. Basically, the whole charade has been pointless and ruined Scotch football even more than it was already.
