I don't like Mayweather but I can see his boxing skills for what they are, world class - it seems your pure hatred for him seeps through in your obvious bias against anything he does. Nevermind.
He did not beat him with relative ease, a lot of close round, and Mayweather himself said it was the toughest fight of his career. Cotto is a very small light-middle he was mid size welter, the size difference between Floyd and Cotto was negligible, Floyd actually looked bigger in the ring.
I gave him credit. He did very well. He was posed problems he hasn't been set in a long long time and negated them really well. As well as the boxing it was a genius move to put on such a quality undercard. You fight Cotto and pull in those numbers and you bring on board two extremely popular fighters. That is likely to be the 2nd highest grossing boxing ppv of all time and not all of it is down to Mayweather, but his name is against it. That is very clever. Nothing to do with me not liking him......which I don't.
Well, relative ease I think is the right phrase - he moved up a weight with no catchweight, was fighting the current World Champion and was facing the prospect of imprisonment afterwards. All in all a pretty impressive feat by anyones standards. Yes, it was one of, if not his toughest fight, but I never once thought that Mayweather was in any danger of losing the fight or even looking in any bother. The American commentators were making a massive deal out of the fact that his nose was bleeding! That simply shows you how good he actually is when a boxer draws comments about being hit!
Cant wait for him to fight poochiou and beat him and finally end the delusion of so many people that think pac is the best
TBH i think Mayweather would beat Pac on current form - Pac looks to have been tamed by Freddie Roach and is far too careful these days. Almost like the fire has gone out. Too thoughtful almost. It would still be an amazing fight though
Well you are going to wait for a very long time, because it will never happen, Floyd simply doesn't want the fight, Pacquiao scares him.
It would be interesting to have seen how Pacquaio would have fared against a rejuvenated Cotto at this weight, Mayweather had some difficulty with him (Cotto looked like the stronger man) he looks a different fighter in comparison to when he fought Pacquaio the first time. Even in that fight he caught Pacquaio with some quality punches. I think he may very well beat Pacquaio if he fought the same way he fought Floyd.
