You're right, plus they looked far stronger physically, we were pushed off the ball far too easily - Sterling and Allen in particular.

I also think that having a back four that keeps rotating ( some of this on Rodgers, a lot on injury) hasn't helped either and there has to be a sense of confidence and comfortability with the GK and the back four as well.

Still think he was a class signing but that is back to back games where he could/should have done better and hope he shows the mental character needed to be a top GK at LFC for many many years.

Also note that in GK years, he is very young and still has much to learn but I still see him coming good and being one of our best.

Produced a good save too but in the end threw two in. I still say it was a big error driving reina out of the club and we can see where reina's passing is sorely missed.

mingolet in a couple years time will be better.... but thats not now so we must accept the mistakes.
 
Mignolet is a fantastic goal keeper. His shot stopping is great.

All great keepers have made big errors. All great players make errors. Gerrards had a few under hit back passers that have cost us and England games.

It is just that with keepers the mistakes often have bigger consequences.
 
The City one was a mistake, but the Chelsea one was just a tad unlucky imo.

The save he made from Lampard during that game definitely made up for it anyway, as that was a class stop.
 
He has become a little inconsistent its true.

My brother really does not rate him at all but I think we should stick with him.

The Torres save late on was also a great save. It was similar to the City one but harder and he kept it out. Plus being Torres it was worth more than 1 goal.
 
anyone reckon we might have another david james lol, potential was there when we had him when young, but he didn't really start getting any form until he left us later on in his career, or think we will have him long enough to find out.

huh? I genuinely dont see why any one being pessimistic.

You might as well ask if Sturridge is another Diouf in my opinion.

well no not really, how can you compare Sturridge and ruddy Diouf ffs, that is an insult of the highest order to the studge.

Migs has had good games and bad games but not been consistent enough for a club that wants cl football at the moment, and he reminds me of when we had James, not being pessimistic, its an opinion.

I like Mignolet.
 
i like mignolet as well and can see him being a ruddy good keeper.

my point was i see similarities to James in we didnt really benefit from him as he became good player later on in his career, will we have migs long enough or will it be similar to James.

Agree on your assessment of the City and Chelsea goals.

Negredo's shot was with the outside of the left foot so would of had slight bend on it.
In the split second Migs had to save it he mis-read the flight,hence the mistake.

The Chelsea goal was more about Skrt's failure to cover the movement of Eto'o and although
Migs got a hand to it he couldn't prevent it from going in.

In general,I think he's a good keeper that will serve us well over the coming years.
 
I think Mignolet will recover from these blunders, although they were saves he should have made, the bottom line is most of the time you can never real put all the blame on the keeper. The Eto'o goal was primarily because of Sakkho's defending, allowing his man to beat him and put the cross between his legs and Skrtel's marking leaving Eto'o with the goal at his mercy. At the end of the day, Eto'o's shot was weak and save-able, but he could easily have produced a much better strike and it wouldn't be Mignolet's fault at all. Same with Negredo's goal, the defense left him one on one with Mignolet but Negredo just didn't produce a quality strike but he easily could have. The situations the defense left Mignolet in were pretty crappy.
 
The mistakes Mignolet has made are being blown way out of proportion. We're not talking about De Gea letting in fully sighted 40 yard pea rollers or Joe Hart throwing the ball into his own net for fun here.
 
Migs ****ed up against Negredo. It may have swerved but Migs wasn't attempted to catch it, he was hitting it clear. He got weak a touch on the ball which simply wasn't good enough.

He did very well to geta hand on the Eto'o effort though. He was only two yards out and despite it lacking power, it gave Migs very little reaction time. The blame for this goal (if anywhere) should be with Skrtel (not picking on him) for ball watching resulting in him getting too square with his man.

Migs made some crucial saves in both games as he has throughout the season, I'm certainly not going to be holding any grudges for our Simon <ok>
 
mingloet.... muck on a stick... there i said it... am i the only one who remembers the days of reina with a certain fondness as i don;t believe any of his "howlers" were worse than mingloet's city one.

mingolet is a damned good shot stopped and yes he is young... but F me... we do miss reina at the back.
 
We miss the Reina of old, not the Reina of the past 2 seasons where mistakes crept into his game.

No doubt, Reina's passing and distribution is world class however a GK needs to stop shots. Reina made mistakes which cost us points.

Whilst Mig isn't as good on the deck, he had made some top class saves and has won us points.
