I've always said it and some others have too, but now there are stats to prove it: http://www.skysports.com/football/n...gues-most-error-prone-goalkeeper-since-201314
He's done well this season, yes we could improve on him but he's doing a job at the moment and has kept us in games with some good reaction saves. Those stats are daft as he had a terrible time at the start with us that would warp any stats.
he's just average. he's best attribute is shot stopping which is the base for all keepers but the rest is below par.
put it this way. if klopp drops him and picks bogdan for rest of year i'd not bat an eyelid. they are on the same level.
I feel the same way. He does stop some spectacular shots but he also manages some crazy muckups. He can't distribute and his game-intelligence seems quite low at times. But he does stop shots with fantastic reflexes at times so he's not all bad. If we replace him- great! May not be priority one though.
I think he is saying reina wanted out anyay and rodgers dumped him before we got dumped... like two teenagers scrambling to change facebook status to single first.
No better way to convince a top player to stay than signing someone inferior to them and telling him you're now back up.
Reina was massively underperforming for a few years, and still is. It was right for us to get rid of him
Bloody hell, this was done to death at the time, and I'm not going to go over it all again. Suffice it to say Reina had his heart set on Barca (his dad said an agreement was in place) and we had to buy someone in anticipation of that move. Valdes didn't leave and the move fell through, but there was always the chance that it would be resurrected in the near future. Imagine the stick the club would have got if Reina had pissed off and left us with Brad as the number one. The club did the right thing, it's just a shame Migs hasn't turned out as well as we hoped. The only legitimate beef Pepe can have is over the loan move which was pushed through without him knowing.
I think Mig's distribution can obviously improve, releasing the ball earlier for counter attacks and kicking accuracy to a degree. But he's being made out to be far worse than he is, we need to improve other area's more urgently
Not just his distribution. His overall command of the box, communication, rushing off the line all need improving.
I think his distribution has improved, from crap to average, so maybe he can improve further. Reina was outstanding in that department, so we were spoilt a bit there. I agree he's nowhere near as bad as is being made out. He is prone to the odd calamitous error, presumably people have forgotten how dodgy Reina was at first?
history proves this to be true. can't deny that. He was better for last 6 months for us but since he's not exactly gone and done an alonso has he...
