Mignolet in 'Confidence Booster'

Discussion in 'Liverpool' started by Sharpe*, Dec 14, 2014.

?

How will Mignolet react to being dropped 'indefinately'?

  1. Feel ultra motivated to do better in training and reserve games to get back into the team.

  2. Be broken beyond repair at the public show of no confidence, leading to a transfer in the summer.

  3. He won't react and instead will be happy to earn a wage on the bench.

    Yup.

We genuinely need to break the bank and get Cech.

Even if we cant sign him - get him on loan.

Better than that he might let us have someone like Schurrle (i like him, he's like a more talented Dirk Kuyt) to take points off City and Utd

I agree we need to replace him but Jones is worse and is certainly not the solution. My main problem is that Rodgers wants to blame anyone and everyone where the real issue is with himself.

    Well in fairness to rodgers

    1. he has to say positive things and try to make it less of a crisis that he has made it.

    2. He's tried to change it... madly IMO but he's tried.

    3. He has dropped a few players. Jones, Toure, lucas have all come in.... people are still demanding more. but the reality it he doesn't have much more does he.

The guy has made his bed. his signings have done for him and he's shown himself incapable of organizing a defence... these two things cannot be denied and must result in him going asap

The fact that all this has been made public shows what an incompetent buffoon Rodgers is. You'd be better off with Ted Rogers with DB as his assistant.

Its a gamble by Rodgers but lets see what happens.

Its unlucky that Mignolet doesnt get an exaggerated or fake injury like Balotelli to give him some privacy.

Fr me rodgers had no right to say what he told the player so the pity is mingolet is so bad he can't tell rodgers to suck it.

Rodgers lobbing him under the bus might ruin him. He's not even been subtle about it, I'm surprised he didn't make him walk around with a sign round his neck emblazened "It's all my fault"

    I completely agree.

Roy Hodgson used to name and shame players when he got desperate.

We really shouldn't be playing Jones at all. I hope Mignolet is put back in goal until we sign a replacement in January

His keeping on sunday though, what the f** was he doing diving the other way for the first goal?! The annoying thing is I think Migs would have had that covered (but would have flapped later on at some corner and conceded)

Come on Mito. Although performances have been dire (i blame his creative selections), you guys have been looking more solid with Toure and Lucas back. So what does Mr clever do, change his formation, drop toure, drop lucas and drop Mignolet. For all his poor distribution/aerial presence, one thing mignolet does is have a good shot stopping ability. Against a Man U side who don't really play a width and put the crosses in, and after a couple of solid big mistake free he drops mignolet for bloody brad jones. That guy dived out of the way for Rooney's first goal (rooneys finish pretty much curls into where jones is standing) and the third goal, he made it an open goal.

Rodgers just has to be too clever and clearly believes in his own hype

Yes we have... thats why i siad in point 3 that in fairness...... he has dropped a few and put in those players... I'm alluding to the fact poeple seem to want rodgrs to drop more and play kids as well.

    for the record.

I have no f'n clue why rodgers dropped toure for basel and Utd then subbed him on... that is total and utter nonsense in my view. I've sid on another thread this morning toure must play.

I think perhaps lucas looked leggy and was taken out but again... don't know... gerrard loos 1000 times worse but stays in.

for me sorry but mingolet can't kick it, field it in anyway, is a target on every set piece and creates utter panic. it was right he got dropped... jones controversially was called for me for the past month and he really isn't THAT BAD... but he is poor compared to what is needed.

for the record.. the first goal he gambled... pure and simple. there was no saving it after 4 of his team mates totally f'd it so he gambles on which way roooeny would fire it... at this level rooney is too good for that crap so it didn't work... but fair enough.. mingolet was saving none of those.

The ball was nowhere near where jones was BTW. had he stood rooney would have slotted it anywhere he liked.

    no he wouldn't.

    seriously it was wide open.

look at video on 10 second here

please log in to view this image

as the ball comes to rooney skertl is standing bang in front of jones... right in front... really really deep too. do his view is obstructed and rooney has 10 yards space in the box due to gerrard's total ball watching. (look at 7-8 second for gerrard, brilliant DM work there)

jones covers his near post first them moves across as the ball is deliver and I think he can't see where its going and guesses.

BTW rooney could've fn passed it to wilson our makring was that bad in the box...

Sure he threw himself but do you want me to get you all the crap mingolet's done thats 1000 times worse!

honestly i don't care. Bad play should mean you get dropped. mingolet has been awful for months... MONTHS.. drop him. I don't care if jones is the same... but he is not worse.

finally what about lovern on goal 2 and 3? hmmmmm seems to me he got dropped but suddenly is back in for no reason! i'd be mre angry about that than mingolet getting what he deserves.

    Jones is utter bilge.

Mignolet might not be the best, but he's way better than that donkey.

He'll cost you if you stick with him.

That's as maybe, but you've got some crucial games between now and then, and after chucking Mignolet under the team coach, he's now stuck with an even worse keeper in Jones.

Brilliant management by Mr Clever that.

Believe his ow hype or star sruct by Gerrard.

In order to play Gerrard Rodgers played our most prominant CM at RWB and a RB at RCB. He put players in possessions where they were obviously not going to perform best just so that Gerrard could be included. To go with it, Gerrard also failed to perform. So thats 3 positions on the pitch where players were just awkward.
