But it's not ****ing funny anymore. And it just underlines the fact that we have only beaten them once since then, & even that was over 50 years ago.
Could always look at the scoreboard or ask your mate next to you. How can you tell people on here that they can't big their team up because they haven't won the league yet you try to go toe to toe with the Mighty German National team....just look at the scoreboard next time Aki mate.
Yeh but I wouldn't take it from a chavbus fan. They think singing "we're racist and that's the way we like it" whilst pushing black people off a train is all good. Doesn't exactly make them fit to say what's a "good old taunt" lets be honest
England manager Gareth Southgate says Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney, 31, has "every chance" of regaining his place in his squad.(Times) And so it starts.
Quite clear from that that he is not an automatic choice. That's progress. Can't expect Southgate to publicly say " Rooney will never play for England again". That would be insulting.
I didn't watch the Germany game and just watched the second half yesterday and was pleased to see our boy Vardy shown how it's done with his first touch! The issues with England for me are media hype and lack of experience through any success. It's all very well winning friendlies like last year against Germany or qualifiers against crap sides but we never perform in tournaments. One of the commentators made a good point when talking about Dier about how many are eligible for u21 championships in the summer. IMO any players who are considered for the first team that are eligible should go to this and get experience in a tournament and try for success. It'll do a damn sight more than any first team friendlies could for them. I'm sure whatever games that the first team have during that time we could manage with some older players
Agree about the lack of players going through the age groups but think Southgate as an u-21 boss will address that. He's already said that despite calling Redmond & Ward Prowse up for this squad he wants both to go with u-21s in Summer. I remember when we played Germany in an underage final in 2009 and then the full team got spanked 4-1 in the WC the following year. They had 4/5 players who played both games. We had 1... Walcott. You're deluded if you think that that and the hype/expectation is our only issues though. Our problems run so much deeper than that right down to grassroots. The entire system needs an overhaul from top to bottom and attitudes need to change. There's no short fix, it will take years once implemented but until that's done we will continue to fail.
Keep up mate, it was the full team who got spanked Edit - Though reading back it's not clear so I've edited
I'm not deluded and do not think those are the only issues. I just think that the media is the most obvious and the taking young players to the tournaments for U21's is an easy solution for that particular issue I can't stand the national set up and am trying to be positive there. For the record I don't expect England to win a WC or euros in my lifetime and I'm only 24
