Bigger club, bigger wages, stepping stone to bigger things, no other clubs in for him. Players tend to take chances that come their way transfer wise these days rather than employing a wait and see policy. I thought the unknown of where you lot are heading might have seen him wait and see, but he obviously doesn't want to risk it not being there in 6 months-1 years time. Plus the club will be looking at the money too, as it will give the manager more room to manoeuvre as he looks to overhaul. You have a solid gk in Westwood. No Mignolet of course but decent enough at this level with room to improve.

Massive blow but perhaps one that can be mitigated over the course of the window to a certain extent.

 

With Roberge, Diakite O'Shea and maybe one other CB we have a decent CB pairing in front of whoever is in goal come august.

Part of the reason Mignolet has been so immense this year is because he's made up for Bramble, Cuellar and Killgallon being dogshite.

 

Agree mate . If its going to happen I hope we get top whack for him but it sounds like we will be getting around 10mil for him . That ****ing hurts .

He's worth more mate, i'd have took £14m for him but £10m is cheap for a keeper of his quality.

 

If the 11m fee is accurate. Then it would make him the 5th most expensive keeper of all time

my sentiments. i don't know what we're getting so pent up about. 10-12 milion is a lot of cash for a keeper. ...esp one who can't distribute to save his life.

 

Spot on mate, even West Brom first goal in that match was a Mignolet mistake to. not even bothered about Mignolet going.

 

The games I seen Westwood in he was class mate & at least Westwood can kick a ball. Mignolet has made loads of mistakes this season but he has made class saves to. abit overrated in my opinion but he will get better with age. plus I bet any one we will not miss Mignolet next season.
