Was it really that long ago? I just checked BBC Football and your right! Church scored in the second minute & it finished 0-1A week before christmas (no wonder I dont bloody remember it) The 0-0 is when they had the fantastic McCarthy in the sticks
After the Forest game we need to treat each one like a cup final, none are easy and it just pains me looking at the squad we had the end of last season to what we have now... Can you imagine Gradel, Howson and Johnson back with a new addition or two (which is what we should have done - kept players and strenghtened) that along with the fact the bunch ahead of us are all trying to throw their chance of a play off spot away.
Thing is, I dont think it would have cost a lot to keep those three either. Johnson wanted a first team wage & should have got it (Norwich have a wage cap so wont be breaking the bank with him either) Howson wanted reassurances regarding our ambition (cant blame him for that really) and as for Gradel, I dont know what to believe, but I know he wont be replaced cheap so we should have tried to force him arm with a deal he's worth. The other candidates run ins are posted below & its not easy for anyone. This is where the better quality squads should have the advantage over the ones that are still trying to shift the deadwood or simply have a small squad. This could stop us making the play offs unless our reserve/back up players really try to impress Warnock & cover as and when we need them for injurys/fatigue to a play off chasing standard. Can we really expect that from the likes of Bromby/Paynter/Forsell? Lets bloody hope so! Kilkenny said it perfectly right. We came 7th last season. So to at bare minimum make the play offs all we had to do was keep the same squad and add 2 or 3 quality players. As it happens we go into the watford game, and only 1 player that started the same fixture last year, could start this, crazy.
Apparently they are both not match fit so no. And im meaning that Schmeicheal, Lichaj, McCartney, Howson, Johnson, Kilkenny and Gradel are all gone. And somma is injured. Of course you knew that..but just wanted to be awkward
