I don't think playing Meireles out wide is a good idea. I'd rather see Gerrard there if I'm being honest. I think a front 3 of Downing Carrol Suarez with Lucas, Adam & Aqualani in the middle would be good enough against Sunderland next week. Swap Suarez for Kuyt if he still needs a rest though.
I would be happy with, though Spearing my play if Kenny feels the need for extra defensive stability. Adam and Aquilani arnt great defensively so Lucas would have to focus more than ever. But that mid 3 would be amazing at keeping hold of the ball.
I think if we were playing away then we may need both Spearing & Lucas but at home, we should be looking to go on the offensive and put a marker down to the rest of the league that this is a different Liverpool team to last year! Show them we are back and they should fear us!
I can see Joe coming good this season if he's staying - he was working hard yesterday and had a few good links... could be good of the bench to change a match... albeit quite expensive...
