I said after the Blackpool game that Matt Mills will come back into the team tommorow and its looking more and more likely now.
Alright lads, Saints fan in peace.. Very good point made there by SmokingAces.. Saints have no recognised wingers as such but yet statistically we have the best attack in the league. Lallana and Guly are what you would describe as a 'forwards' they're not wingers or strikers they're just attackers, and like you say about Dyer, it's very effective. You don't NEED wingers. Also, one of the keys to our success has been our full backs getting down the wings - Fox is the best left back in the league IMO (I'm sure you'll think Konchesky is but let's leave that debate for another day!) and him and Richardson have assisted 17 goals between them, whilst Peltier and Konchesky have just 1 assist each... That's a massive difference. Maybe instead of complaining about your lack of wingers you should be complaining about the lack of attacking prowess your full backs have shown thus far - I don't know, I haven't seen Leicester enough times this season to comment really but I thought those stats were quite telling... Good luck for the rest of the season anyway guys and girls, I still hope you make it into the play offs
No chance for the play-offs - but thanks for the well wishing. I hope Saints go up...would be a great achievement! And yes our lack of creativity up to our front 2 has been awful! Last season we had Naughton who was devastating when going forward...we thoroughly miss him!
The midfield is a problem. However, look at some of the goals we conceded from corners against Chelsea and Blackpool and then you realise that our defence is less than solid.
Defensively Peltier has declined recently, but with John Pantsil completely frozen out and Liam Moore just working his way into the game there isnt much competition. St. Ledger wasnt too impressive at right back either. We are conceding some poor goals but the midfield is the main problem. Also we need to start defending better as a team starting from the front. Another thing and a slight criticism of Kasper (This is the part where all the Leeds fans jump in) he plays the quick long ball too often now. We are smashing the ball long to Beckford too many times and the ball is coming straight back at us. He needs to hold onto the ball and make sure we keep possession sometimes, because we use it too often its no longer a secret weapon
