Perhaps a poorly worded op but it's kind of what I'm getting at. I really think we're no further forward and indeed would be better placed with what we had. However if management had managed better we could have created revenue to invest rather than ending in a situation no better but with a number out on loan and some utter tosh with us that we won't be able to move on!
That's right, let's replace our poor midfield failures with poor ex-midfield failures. What we need is a coach who can get the balance and formation right, one or two good additions and we'd be on the right track...
As above mate that's not what I'm saying. The point being have we actually achieved anything with what we've done? I think we'd be in exactly the same position with the old crop if not better but could have generated sales instead of loans to invest in new better players.
What a great OP I near perfect example of how short the memory of a football fan is..... Oh dear, Next week we will be want Hughes back because he kept us in the Prem that first season. Carry On Up The Rrr's....
And my compliments on a great post! No I wouldn't want Hughes back and we didn't loan him out so poor analogy. You miss the point that we haven't improved our midfield. The main difference is the return of Joey Barton. What we've done with loaning out is run down contracts, reduced any fee we may have got and got a long term injury to one of them.
'74, I'm beginning to think its you who's lost your marbles and not Diakite! Can you not remember the shambles our squad was when Redknapp started rebuilding it last Summer? Far from being 3rd in the league, most people thought we'd go down again with that bunch of uninterested misfits. Do you seriously think that upon relegation we should have left the squad/midfield more or less the same? How on earth can you not remember the disarray we were in?!!! Granero in the rough and tough Championship! Are you having a laugh? '74, you're a top poster but I've got to say its been a long time since I seen such a poor OP on here. Its time you stopped digging and put this one down to experience mate.
Why thanks you sir, Hughes could always come back and Im sure we have got rid of players as we did Hughes, so not so poor, but point taken. the main diffrence is not JB, Its that we have 5-6 midfielders who actually want to play for us no matter what te division. regardless of whether they are good enough or not. that has to be a positive step. Those that were loaned out, were so because they didnt want to help the team that had paid thier wages for the previous (2+) seasons and they thought they were above us. Well if they were actually half as good as they pretended to be, then we would not be in the NPC now. I personally think that although we are not "taking the league by storm" as some of our deluded posters across certain sites expected, we have progressed in that we have a better team ethic. This goes for all the players mentioned & not, the only one i would excuse is Remy simply because he is as good as he thinks. the rest were rubbish IMHO
