If the league leaders at home wasn't a big enough challenge how about 2nd place Middlesbrough away? The games don't really get tough then this, but fresh off 3 wins on the bounce and sitting just above relegation, Norwich will be far happier now than if we had faced them a month ago with the team actually come back from a goal down in the first time in seven attempts at home this season. Ahmed has got off to an excellent start with two goals and assists. Perhaps this is partially down to Makama who in making a nuisance of himself is perhaps creating space for others to exploit. With a couple of new signings and others coming back from injury they will look to make it hard to Middlesbrough who are having an excellent season and busily hunting down Coventry at the top. If Norwich are going to get anything out of the game they will have to keep Morgan Whittaker quiet who has 11 goals and 5 assists so far this season.

Form:
Middlesbrough: LWWWW
Norwich: WLWWW

This will be a tough game for Norwich, but hopefully a fruitful one.

Why not indeed? The key for us will likely be counter-attacking, which is how we beat Coventry, as Ben Lee points out in his Tactical Analysis:

"With Clement at the wheel and the Canaries flying past their relegation rivals, the host’s counter-attacking threat was too much for Lampard’s men."

Any news about Mattsson's condition following his assault from Asante? Not like him to be sub'd early in a game. He's reminiscent of old "Three Lungs". I'm concerned if it's another concussion he'll miss the next few games. Wright's an obvious capable replacement but hopefully Pelle is good to go against Boro. <wizard>

Did Asante get a retrospective red?

Don't hold your breath. Basically, if there is no retrospection it reeks of corruption.

Edit:- I may have invented a new word there.

After the game PC said that he subbed Mattsson because he rolled his ankle in the first half, not because of the elbow he took to the face. I assume there will be a press conference today where there will be a proper update on his condition.

For me Wright is a completely different type of player to Mattsson, the difference being Mattssons intensity to press and recover the ball while Wright adds more calmness in possession and better vision to play through the lines. In my opinion Wright is more Mclean than Mattsson

True, but Wright is arguably our best set piece taker, especially corners, though Ahmed has shown some potential as well. Set pieces could be important in a challenging away game.
