Have to say that by Pulis’s standards (which I know is damning with faint praise) it really wasn’t that bad. He was asked the direct question about Stiepermann’s tackle rather than bringing it up and his response was that’s Ayala got sent off for one similar (which is true) and so that seems inconsistent (which is also true). Ok, he didn’t flag his own team’s bad tackles , but what manager would... He’s still a twat, obviously!

Haven't seen Tim Krul mentioned much, but I thought tonight might well have been his best night in a City shirt. Didn't have to make any world class saves, but was absolutely solid behind each shot, commanded his area well and wasn't fazed when the press from Boro limited his options.
