After they got away scot free with 1 or 2 reds. I was just waiting for the red card to come out for Steeps.
This game is going the way I thought it would, not the best but we can still win it. Their goalkeeper has been outstanding so far, I can see why he has kept a lot of clean sheets.
Randolph is the best Keeper in this league, and he's showing it. We have been pretty poor, but he made 3 worldie saves.
He's looked decent. We look a bit...like we are nervous, but trying to act like they aren't. Their thinking seems a bit panicked, but they are dwelling on the ball too long then giving the ball away. Happy with 0-0 at HT. Should have scored 1 or 2, but I think we have been second best by a shade.
Boro with more chances, City with the better ones. Both teams have a player or two capable of taking one. Really hard to call, I think even at the break is fair. Boro's press is quite high energy, and you could see in the first half they couldn't keep it up throughout. Hopefully it's less effective in the second half, and our usual trick of better second halves repeats itself. I feel like we've seen the best Boro have got, whilst we're not quite on our game. Wouldn't mind seeing Vrancic come on before the 88th minute, McLean has been quiet and a little short of the physicality Boro are bringing.
Boro play it tight in midfield and have frustrated our attempts to move it through the thirds. They're in the top six for a reason and this one will be tough all the way. We have looked more clinical in front of goal though and Randolph has saved them three times 'for sure'. We're a second half team though, so fingers crossed! OTBC!!!
No. I said to my gf after the poor first 10 minutes "I should have put the Pukki T on." Should I go and do that?
Well they're just outside of the top 6 But I agree with you, we do normally improve as the game goes on.
Ever since Preston spanked us, the opposition seems to have attempted a high press because that’s how Preston did it. I think that’s a bit odd though because if you actually watched the Preston match, yes the high press got the first two goals, but they got very lucky after that (with an astonishing Rudd performance) and then effectively managed the game by playing on the counter. The teams since have just exhausted themselves and the high press gives us space if the passing goes well
