Middlesbrough v Leeds United
Tuesday 8th April@20:00 | Riverside Stadium

Leeds United travel to the Riverside Stadium to face a Middlesbrough side in impressive form. Michael Carrick's men have reignited their play-off hopes, accumulating 13 points in their last six games – a feat matched only by Sheffield United. This surge has propelled them to fifth in the Championship table, making them a dangerous opponent for Daniel Farke's Leeds.

Despite Boro's recent resurgence, history favors the visitors. Leeds have dominated recent encounters, winning their last five Championship matches against Middlesbrough, with a penchant for goals, having scored three or more in four of those victories. Furthermore, Leeds have a strong record in midweek league games, winning seven of their last eight since a defeat to Millwall in November.

However, both sides face injury concerns heading into this crucial clash. Middlesbrough's Neto Borges is a doubt after suffering an ankle injury in their recent win against Blackburn. Rav van den Berg is on standby to fill the left-back position. Carrick is also dealing with a lengthy injury list, including Alex Bangura, Darragh Lenihan, Sol Brynn, Luke Ayling, Ben Doak, George Edmundson, and Seny Dieng, all sidelined with long-term injuries.

Leeds also have their share of worries. Joe Rothwell is ruled out for the next four games with a thigh injury, while Pascal Struijk is doubtful with an ankle injury sustained in the draw against Luton. Matteo Joseph’s availability is also uncertain due to illness. The likely solution will see Tanaka partner Gruev in midfield, with Ampadu dropping back into defense. The good news for Leeds is that Patrick Bamford and Max Wober are both fit and available for selection, providing Farke with much-needed options.

Boro not played a decent side in their recent run but confidence will be up. Doak is the big miss but a very long term absence now and the others are either long term absences as well or fringe players, except borges. Some of those injuries have actually helped them. They’ll be up for it… always a good tussle at the riverside. I’ll be there with the milkyboy kids in the boro end <cheers>

Probably not, but everyone of my predictions this seasion has been whatever the score was last season, so no point changing tactics now ;)

I can only humbly apologise for not noticing until April.<laugh> How have you handled sides we didn’t play last season?

Just replaced with whoever got promoted/relegated so Portsmouth = Birmingham, which is why I had us to lose to Portsmouth 1-0 the other week, Derby = Huddersfield and Oxford = Rotherham. Same with the relegated sides, Luton = Leicester, Burnley = Ipswich and Sheffield Utd = Southampton.

It's exactly how I've done all my predictions for Stonkins thread, although I appreciate that's not a thread you participate in.

It's mainly just an experiment of using a random system to predict scores and see how it compares to AI. With 6 games to go AI is far superior to my method :emoticon-0140-rofl:

Six games and 18 points to play for. Only two points below Burrnleh so why all the doom and gloom.
Bamford has three options these next games. He could get injured again or miss several open goals or.... Score some winners and finally play a part in this season.
Because we all know we’re bottle jobs and have seen this film before

Be handy if Burnley beat Sheffield United

Well we know what we need to do tonight but I just dont see it happening under our current performances.
We need to find that form as if we dont win tonight we are going further behind as i cant see the other two losing. Omly thing now is Burnley have that extra pressure of staying ahead and not chasing anymore.
I so want to be on here after the game full of joy.
