Really? I'm not expecting much before this game, I didn't even have big expectations before the last game. The toys being thrown around would be by Hernandez, some players need to go to the bench. Diame was probably better off the bench before actually. Diame has been a handicap, if he starts again then I wonder how many more times he will give the ball away.
Hernandez shouldn't be immune to being dropped, a few weeks ago the suggestion of playing Aluko instead of Hernandez would have sounded absurd but now it seems the right thing to do.
No it doesnt. He's a striker. He scores goals. He's just in a mini slump. You play him through it. When that one chance comes who do you want on it. Abel, Aluko or Akpom? I know who i do.
He's not getting into the positions to score so its Catch 22 really, I'd probably go for Akpom over Aluko personally but can see why Bruce would drop Hernandez, in two weeks maybe normal service will be resumed from Abel
I'd rather have a lad who's scored 16 goals already than somebody who hasn't. The service to him has been appalling and as I've said before, we should be playing to his strengths instead of the other way around. Diame up front isn't the answer, he leaves Abel too isolated so it's no wonder he doesn't get a sniff. Abel does need to do more during games, Bruce has alluded to that after the Forest game, but surely we can do more for him?
Thats the key thing, Windass alluded to it this week, he's not working hard enough to get into positions so the service to him is irrelevant if he isn't there to finish. We got loads of crosses into the box last week with nobody to finish, Aluko might be annoying at times but he's fresh and I'd fancy him to get himself into better positions than Hernandez as it stands today, maybe not usually. Akpom would be the preference but Bruce has probably given up with him like he has with Hayden.
We are capable of winning, no doubt about it. Given our recent performances, I doubt anybody is confident we will like.
I'd have gone if it was a Saturday, Friday nights are **** because we have too much stuff going on. I expect that's the same for most with young families.
