I disagree. Brucey signed Odubajo and at the time quoted he had pace, and highlighted he had started his career as a winger! Against Boro at home he went past Friend a number of times and got crosses in, and in fact had a couple of good shots on goal from memory. Odubajo has displayed on many occasions he does have pace, I reckon it's now a confidence thing after a couple of ineffective games and probably had Brucey shouting in his ear all week about not giving the ball away!
You disagree that he was beaten for pace by his opponent this morning/last night? Maybe different viewing at the ground, but in a number of one on one contests he seemed to try and sprint past his opponent and couldn't get past him once for pace.
I think Odubajo faced up to Friend a number of times, and not once played the ball past him and used his pace to run into the space behind. He turned back almost every time if the ball didn't end up in touch. A combination of good defending and Odubajo not using what he is brought into the club to use as a wing back; his pace. Given he used his pace to get past Friend in the home game a number of times, last night was a reversal of those fortunes. A confidence thing, Friend learning from the home game, who knows? Either way, Odubajo for me was poor last night.
We set up to get a draw and we got exactly what that deserves. If Bruce thinks our best tactic against Boro is to defend for a draw then I would get shot of him now and sod the consequences. Powell should definitely be given a proper start as a striker. Yes he did drop back last time, he was looking for the ball and ended up trying to do everyone else's job because they weren't.
Huffing and puffing sums it up quite well, Diame Not sure if he has lost the whole dressing room but there are a few players this season with questionable form and possibly questionable attitude, Elmo for starters
He shouldn't have been on the pitch for most of the second half, he looked completely knackered yet Bruce brought off Snodgrass instead
I'm aware, I was simply pointing out that IMO he should be given a start as a striker, as, earlier on this thread, it was argued that he shouldn't. As was also mentioned earlier, it was Ryan Giggs who recommended him as a striker - I kind of respect his opinion.
Bloody hell, you're being a tad pedantic, aren't you? If I have said I'm aware he is injured, how about taking a leap of common sense and taking it for granted that I mean when he isn't injured, as I haven't said otherwise. I never said should have been given. Our next game is the best 2 weeks away, if he's fit, play him. Thought you knew your onions, Greengrocer.
Totally agree with you. It doesn't deflect from the league at all, positive results in whichever competition have a positive impact on the team.
It's no problem, I'm sure you'll be found wanting in the last 9 games.[/QUOTE] Your so full of **** Your world has collapsed getting beat by Boro last night I have witnessed your, and a lot of your fellow forum members anti every team except Hull for months BUT also anti your own manager YOUR NOT BARCELONA, GET OVER IT This is the Championship, your not God given to get promoted BTW, I am not one of the minority of Boro fans who thinks Boro are either I was not part of the Karanka out dickheads I await your wrath

he would be injured if he was here. It is a prerequisite that all new signings spend the first three months injured
