We're in the ****e whatever that result - and must NOT lose to Burton!! A draw will not be a bad result, tho we could do with a win which would at least get us off the bottom. Bart
We were in a similar position when Keane took over and we won the league that season, and I'd say on balance Coleman is a better manager or at least on par. If we can just get that first win...
Too early to start worrying about what other teams are doing in my opinion we need to concentrate on getting points ourselves. We have a knack of losing games by a goal and drawing games. We aren't being battered which gives me hope that we can turn this around. Just need a lucky win hopefully at Burton on Saturday and we will start to get ourselves away from the bottom. Its a mix of bad luck and sheer stupidity which is costing us at the moment and surely that can't continue all season long.
We weren't. Keane took over after about 6 games. We are nearly half way through the season and have only won one game. We have one goal this season now SURVIVE!
Weren't we bottom of the league or thereabouts at the time he took over? I don't have the best memory for these things to be fair. Btw I'm not insane enough to suggest that I think we might win the league now we've got Coleman but making the point that if Keane can take over a team at rock bottom and win the league with them then I don't see why Coleman couldn't at least win enough games to keep us up.
It's November. Being cut adrift now doesn't mean too much. I'm hearing good things about team performances, so we gotta give Coleman some time to deal with the **** he has to. And if he does, we don't need to worry about what other teams do.
As long as there's constant improving performances over the next 3-4 games, I'll be content whatever the results. We have to Coleman proper time and it's still early days. 3 or 4 wins on the belt and the outlook is completely different.
I wanted Birmingham to win because I'm really positive and thinking it would have been 3 less points to catch the play off places.
To get top two you usually need about 89 points. That's 78 more points from 28 games (2.78 points per game), to put that into context last season Celtic destroyed their league and played 38 games, won 34, drew 4 and lost 0. They averaged 2.79 points per game. If you win every game from now on you'll get 95 points, top two last season got 94 and 93. If Keane really got you promoted from a similar position he must have done insanely well. Targets: Win any game. Then win a home game. Climb out of the bottom two. Bed in the nucleus of a team who can thrive at this level. Back your manager to go again next season with the benefit of a clean slate in the league and a good pre-season. You'll be ok.
I did clarify afterwards that I wasn't suggesting that I thought we had an outside chance of winning the league but that if Keane could do that then Coleman can throw enough wins together to help us to stay up. Not to take away from Keane's achievement though, which was incredible.
Fair play. I did the classic of responding to a post without having read all the way through first. I genuinely don't think you'll go down this season though.

Think the top 6 will be pretty much as is apart from Villa going up automatically with Wolves. Cardiff, Boro, Bristol City and Sheff Utd in the play offs. Back to back promotions for Sheffield Utd
