Sometime at 9.40pm on Tuesday this years adventure in the Capitol One cup will come to an end. Another in the exciting list of pap draws in cup competitions sends us to play Boro. A couple of seasons ago we played their reserves in the same competition at Deepdale, they won easily, expect the same on Tuesday.
They have a decent manager in Karanka who seems to have invested wisely, they have had a decent start although they lost to the Owls on Saturday. He played a strong side in the first round at Oldham with £3 million striker Kike scoring in that tie. They also paid a large amount for Lee Tomlin (is he still on his 10 pies a day diet)
Fresh from our lethargic victory over Oldham it is an ideal chance to show the Championship what they will be getting next season:emoticon-0104-surpr
Still contemplating whether to go to it, it tempting but..............................

As predicted a win for Boro exactly the same score as last time we played them. Not overly bothered about the result interesting to see Hugill scored, looked decent when he came on as sub on Saturday.
Interesting to see who didn't play the likes of Keane, Huntington and Buchanan, looks like these three are on borrowed time possible loan moves afoot, will Jim White even know.

Wasn't there a practice match with Fleetwood or Morecombe yesterday with those 3 playing? As a poster said, NE need to have a team of players capable of competing in the Championship, so why hang on to Keane, Huntingdon nd Buchanan if they are third tier level players? Perhaps this was NE's eventual downfall last season? Just too many 3rd tier players. It may seem obvious to say, but it is possible to win promotion with orgnised whole hearted 3rd tier players, but the consequence will be immediate relegation.
