Police have said there will be a large police presence for the derby. Sunderland travel to neighbouring Middlesbrough on Sunday, with around 34,000 people expected to attend. Cleveland Police said there would be a large presence in and around the Middlesbrough town centre area. Middlesbrough FC said it had sold more than 32,000 tickets with Sunderland bringing 2,000 supporters. Fans from each club are advised to take different routes in and out of the stadium. Cleveland Police said it would be working alongside Northumbria Police Mounted Section officers, British Transport Police and Durham Constabulary officers. T/Supt Paul Richardson said: "We know that the majority of supporters come to the game to enjoy the match in a responsible manner. "Anyone, particularly Whittylad, who intends to use the game as an excuse to cause disorder will be dealt with robustly and those people could find themselves with a banning order." https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-tees-68192584
Yeah, I lived in Bishop Middleham util I was 14 and went to school in Sedgefield and most were Boro supporters. Until I was allowed to go to Sunderland on my own, when I was about 11, my parents would only let me go to Boro games with my friends (John Hickton, Stuart Boam era). Also, the only time I have been punched was in the Holgate end on Boxing Day 1973 when I couldn't keep my mouth shut when we scored (think I was still feeling cocky from our cup final win ).
THAT'S A THING THAT PISSES ME OFF! Those twats saying the Saudis taking over was good for the region yet my taxes are paying towards a bridge I don't even use cos the council are too ****ing tight to maintain it! Rant over
Used to watch him at Mansfield where he was excellent season after season ... ... it was incredible how long it took for someone to buy him tbh.
£40 million to give it a coat of paint and tighten the bolts ... ... Bob Murray could build them a new ground for that amount
Amazing to think the ridiculous pressure Beale was under after a couple of narrow defeats. I wonder if the new Stoke boss will be under similar pressure after losing 8 goals in two games. Its absolutely mad football.
Beale was under pressure before he even put pen to paper as was Mowbray!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Such is the nature of our internet fanbase Thankfully this does not represent the majority of our fanbase (imo)
For the minority that we’re against him because of his accent, he may well think we talk a bit strange. Works both ways.
I'll never get sick of saying its not a Derby. The Mags are/were rivals. Middlesbrough reckon they have a "Derby" with, Us, Newcastle, Leeds and Hull.
They do that over here for both AFL teams. Reduces congestion and the number of drunk drivers on the road. Free travel is from 9am until midnight so on the lash early then afterwards and sleep on the train home Should add that it's all public transport so trains, buses and trams
