3-0? They only had 2 shots in the first. 20 mate. And neither of them should’ve been allowed by the ref.

We also should’ve been 4-1 up by the time they equalised.

Fair play to them for sticking around so long because if some ****er was drumming 90s dance classics in my ear for the best part of an hour and a half I’d be watching it in the pub

reading the boro forum posted earlier, they see plenty wrong with their team and had a few nice things to say about our team...now i feel that is what football should be about, fair enough they 'hate sunderland' but they take a defeat on the chin and admit they were 2nd best overall.

mind they had me worried that first 20 minutes but carrick certainly needs to change things, i think the winter window is the wrong time to make big changes in playing staff but his starting line up could not react when we got our foot on the ball.

it's just nice when other fans (boro forum again) say we 'looked like a premier team compared to them' rather than 'they were lucky to catch us at that time' ... i have been sitting here trying to think when, or even if, we have had our strongest team out because our back line has had to be changed around a lot, our wingers have been in and out and we cant even say we have ran with an established front line plus many a time struggled to get a decent bench together, yet we are still up there and fighting.

The man with the ball facing opponents can see the picture. Jobe was running blind towards his own goal. If he called the ball, it was a bad call. Still Luke can see how tight the press is and has control of the situation. He has options.
    1. back to keeper
    2. wide to Dennis
    3. central pass to Jobe
    4. Go long over the press and negate the danger

Obviously hoofing it as you call it will not work all the time as it will just invite pressure if we do it all the time. We do NOT hoof it all the time. We usually recycle it by using Patto creating a 4v3 or 4v2 and work the ball out. We have conceded a few goals playing the pass Luke chose yesterday. A pass into danger forcing Jobe to use his strength to hold man off before probably returning to Patto to send long. IMO Luke chose the wrong option and I would tell him that if we chatted. CB judged on decision making and the best make best decisions even under pressure.

We are certainly starting to get noticed. And great to start being recognised for playing good football.
We are developing a footballing identity that people like. Great to hear fans talk about being jealous of our young entertaining team.
The better you get and the higher you go the harder it is to stick to principles but we are doing a pretty good job so far.
    Enjoying the ride.

The throw ins were better last night.
The commentator mentioned we haven’t scored from the last 137 corners so with some coaching there’s another source of goals we haven’t used and can improve on.

Let’s hope ‘Boro can do us a favour or two as they have Sheffield United and Leeds to play and I think they are capable of getting something from both games.

Burnley are at home to Oxford tonight so I would expect them to get 3 points there but after a couple of weeks I think we may be at least second. We have 2 more home games than away games as well.

Could have had three yellow cards his last challenge on Cirkin was a shocker and very deliberate. It was in injury time but he should have walked

Wild shots and blocked shots don't win matches ...

    ... that's why games never finished 5-8.

What does it matter if if Boro were better in the first 20 minutes, games tend to last at least 90 minutes.

I've been and witnessed it with me own eyes <laugh>

What he actually meant was 'Boro could have been 2 or 3 up' ...

... if the shots weren't wide, blocked or saved by the keeper.

It's typical of the snide way he always comments on Sunderland. There's a real pattern of ex-players who struggle to say a good word about us ...

... Goodman, Gabbiadini, Bennett, Phillips all seem slightly bitter about the club.

Perhaps they have good reason but it's bloody annoying.

Ultimately I think we’ve had our club back ever since KLD took over. I just hope that the fanbase at large realises what we’ve got these days - and that realisation can actually stand up to a few bad results or adverse events now.
