I have a hotmail account for my emails, every couple of months Microsoft ask me to type in my password, tell me its wrong and reset it, I reset it, it accepts it, asks me to log on again then says its wrong.

Does anyone else use hotmail and have this issue?

Does anyone know why this is happening? Is it a problem with Microsoft?

For some reason this week they have requested that I create an Outlook email as opposed to my Hotmail one, but only on my lappy. Phone is still hotmail. I am assuming that hotmail will be getting phased out.

On a PC or mobile?

Either way if using it via a browser, try clearing the cookies for that service. Or even a different browser. Try "incognito" mode, that way all the cookies etc. are sidestepped, and if it works you maybe need to clear all cookies (to make sure) and the cache.
I don't use hotmail, but have had similar issues with other sites.

Chromebook, but also on my phone on my hotmail account

Cleared cookies on phone and chromebook, its no longer asking for a password, this seems to happen about every 3 months, its a pain in the arse
