The problem is that their "sources" have been wrong lots in the last two weeks, so it's hard to take any new information at face value. To me, if the tweets were right and we were between Steve Bruce and Mick McCarthy and Bruce isn't on, then I'd be really worried that neither would McCarthy.
Perhaps thats where 'the end of this week' came from. We would know what Bruce would be doing because Whelan had a deadline of tomorrow for Martinez to Liverpool i think? And Mick would have to come in before he went to the Euros on a paid scouting trip
Now Martinez linked back to Villa job and apparently no longer Liverpool. Same result if true though, Wigan vacancy for Bruce.
Philip Buckingham ‏@PJBuckingham Told #hcafc still hopeful of appointing a new manager before the end of this week. Process at an advanced stage. It will not be Steve Bruce, confirmed by a source close to him.
Yeah someone linked to that on another thread OLM. I know you were dubious all along, it doesn't look like Clark is in the running either. He hasn't been approached by them yet (from Swanny's Twitter) and if we're supposed to be naming a new manager by the end of week that would make him pretty unlikely. Personally Robinson at MK dons seems a good punt from whats left, although Mike White reckons B Davies might still be in the picture. Although I'd like McCarthy I can't see it happening.
If it was Davies wouldnt he already be in place now? I cant see any reason for hold-up and he'd have been appointed straight after Nick's official sacking was upheld.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/18235961 Rodgers poised for Liverpool job and expected to be named in next 48 hours. Not that this changes anything particularly as Martinez will probably end up at Villa or maybe even Swansea again and Bruce isn't coming to us anyway. But still 75% of this thread was about Martinez possibly going to Lpool so i thought i'd put it up anyway.
I'll go for McCarthy in the 10th on a TKO - Brucie's nose finally giving up the ghost amd moving to somewhere behind his right ear ....
someone put on Buckingham's twitter a couple of hours ago that it would not now be announced this week but don't know where this came from.
The only hint it could be Holloway would be the talks between him on 'pools owner. Can't see it myself but I'd like it to happen.
its getting quite desperate for news on here... no one knows who its going to be or even who's been interviewed. we'll probably end up with someone completely left field..
