The WEPL comes from the fact that over a century ago England was a proud, strong nation and as England then claim, the birth of everything wonderful, their Football Federation refered itself pompously as FA. Other countries had done the same but as inter-country contacts became more frequent, every other nation were proud to prefix the FA with letters pertaining to their own country. England were too proud and too self pompous to follow suit. However, the one Government still rules England, Scotland , Wales and the wee occupied 6, I feel it is important to highlight the top sponsered, top used for money laundering league to be the WEPL, as I would not want anyone of low intelligence to think that the wee 6 or Scotland were part of the same rotten system.
Thanks for the explanation Super. I support only 1 team in the SPL and that is Celtic. The EPL and SPL are separate. I don't see why my support of Celtic is diminished by support for EPL teams. Anyway, great result for us today. Slightly gutted because I predicted 3-0. Happy new year to all fellow tic fans.
