If only we had a player with a bit of experience who could just sit in front of the back 4 and break things up and let Michut and Neil play further forward. Someone like Corry Evans......
TM said after the match that he'll be a much much better player next year, so he must think he's still going to be here.
He runs out of steam around 60 minutes in my opinion. Not a surprise for a young lad playing his mens football. Intensity is like nothing in under age football. You can see him just dropping his physical level a bit. He is a talent though, no doubt about it. That was clear in his first couple of games. A summer in the gym, like Dan did, and he will be all the bettee again.
He's an excellent footballer and given how slight he is, he tries to battle in there too. He'd be a great signing and even better at half price, but he'll have offers better than us this summer so we might struggle to finalise it. Hopefully, there's enough stories within our dressing room of players not getting an opportunity to play in Premier League clubs, that he realised we're the best thing for him. At the moment, our team lacks the right structure. Remove the number 10 next season with Evans back in the holding role and get Stewart back up front (with like for like replacements in the squad) and we'll see Michut, Neil and Ba all step up another level again.
My question would be, if he thinks he is ready for top flight football, rather than choose Fulham or the Mags, why wouldn't he just stay at PSG. He seems fairly level headed and realistic about his development, so I think he'll be here next season.
I thought with overseas loans the deal was pre-agreed so simply a matter of exercising the option? I’m no expert so hopefully someone can clarify, e.g. is there an additional step to agree terms with the player as well?
As good as he is I dont see him ready for the premier league yet and he certainly isnt playing for PSG anytime soon. Any move from a premier league team is about development and they would ship him out on loan for a year. I would be amazed if he doesnt sign here and spend a couple of year playing week in week out. The world is his oyster then he has that much talent. We are lucky to have him and Neil in the same side. Would love to see them be a partnership next year as well. They are such good passers and see the game so early, with Stewart up front it could be special.
He will go to premier league and sit on the bench majority of the time. Or he can stay with us and play most of the season!
No brainer for me, I would offer a 4/5 year deal https://insidefutbol.com/2023/04/25...to-move-to-keep-loan-star-permanently/601089/
He seems to love it here so I’d hope it’s pretty much a done deal. It’s a no brainer at the 2.5m fee if we don’t go up, and at the 5m fee if we do. It’s a ducking shrewd bit of business from the club that. The only thing that stops it being a done deal is if clubs like Fulham woo him with higher wages and he turns down the move to us and Fulham go on to agree a deal with PSG.
It's important that if we do want to keep him we get it done asap. What normally happens is soon as season is finished the players go on holiday and that seems to slow things down and gives other clubs a chance to circle!
Not exactly sure how it works. Some sort of contract I believe has to have been offered at the time of the loan. Not sure if that’sa washer thing or a length of contract. Guess time will tell
Would love to see him here perm and watch him develop. The lad is quality and will get better. Love watching him carry the ball before hitting the pass. Always on the move as well.
