totally agree with swanselona here and if Michu do return and the talks with monk about his future go ok then we will have a player of his caliber who wants to play for the club again and we all know what he can do when his mind is right. I knew napoli would not be the right club for him the minute i saw them play but we are the right club for him with the system we play so if he does come back then we should welcome him with open arms and put his past behind him. Im not worried one bit about his injuries as he was fit and took part in games and training and like any other player he is subject to getting knocks just like the players we have injured at the moment. I hope things can be resolved and we get the michu we use to have as that will be an asset to our squad...
Can't disagree with that right now Valley, but he has talent. The question is can he tap into it ever again?
neither would bony have a couple of years back when he went for trials with different clubs one of which was liverpool who turned him down as not good enough....we all know how good michu can be when he wants to play. He was Brilliant. A player has to want to play for a club and not go through the motions and michu had problems last season that was well documented. If these problems are now sorted and he is committed to the swans cause again then ther would not be any player better as an asset to the club.....we dont know of course until he has talks with monk and jinx but if he is willing to do that then thats a positive sign that he wants to play for the club again...
If Michu is not hacking it in Serie A then h's never going to do it in the Premier league again, he'll be a bench warmer to the end of the season until we ship him out back to Spain.
Agree! but can you see that happening? Michu has fitness issues and also has some mental problems as well, unless he can extinguish his own demons then there is not really much hope............
thats the thing we dont know how fit he is but you dont get to play for napoli or any other club unless you are fit. lets see what happens first before you write off a player of his caliber and not assume he has lost all that skill he showed with us before his obvious troubles...
he didn't ... he didn't say anything and many thought he should have thanked the fans etc. Two ways to look at it, I suppose. He was on loan so hadn't finished with us so not appropriate to say his goodbyes, or he was moving away and possibly wouldn't come back so could (maybe 'should' but that word is banned) have said his goodbyes. If he comes back great if not thanks for the memories. I just hate it when players or managers who made positive contributions to the club are slagged off on the basis of rumour and gossip,
He hasn't been playing for them, that's the point, he's a big flop, and just ten games in they are sending him home??
So you say we shouldn't write off a player who has been piss poor for the best part of 12 months, yet you are happy enough to pull the trigger on Bony?
In general I don't disagree, however, I take issue with one thing .... I don't think Michu ever went through the motions - this presumes that he was perfectly healthy and didn't try. Anyone who has ever seen him play knows that he is fully committed when on the field. He was probably playing with some degree of pain and or restricted motion in his ankle last season.
I am not saying that at all you assume that because michu is not the first choice with napoli that he is not fit and useless...how ridiculous is that when we have players not first choice, are they useless also ?. Michu have played for napoli and that confirms he can still play but i have always said that their type of football does not suit michu's style. He cant help that. Who says he cant do a job for us like he use too if his problems off field have been sorted. Michu was idolised here in his first season and he can be idolised again if he has the commitment and desire he had when he first joined us. Being piss poor with napoli's style of football does not make him piss poor in our style as you should know that with the way he made the headlines on every football channel and media throughout the world. you dont become a bad player you just can't play certain styles of football just like many other players have trouble doing..... Don't write off michu until he has had a chance...
I bet you laudrup didn't rate michu that much, and I think he was probably a bit of a desperate signing but his price and goal tally the previous season made him a good option. I think he thrived on being the main man and having almost all the responsibility of scoring goals, great start vs qpr and he built momentum from there. A fit and aggressive michu always on the front foot like the first season would be a much better than gomis
But at present there are at least 9 players who are better than him. If he comes back, he has to prove himself worthy of a starting spot and we shouldn't select him on his performances from 18 months ago.
