But think about it,He's a boyhood bluenose. There has been players that have left us for them ie,Ablett,Dave Johnson,Beardo,Kevin Sheedy.I wouldn't have minded if Owen ended up at Woodison. However joining that club, now thats unforgiveable. He should be abused and rightly so. I've heard Man United fans say that ''He did what was best for his career''. Would they like it if Paul Scholes left them for say Juventus and came back and joined us?Of course not. They would have every right to abuse him. They also mention Peter Beardsley and Paul Ince.Thats irrelevant,as neither came out of Liverpool or Man U's academy. The only other player to have done what Owen did was Sol Campbell. He left Spurs for the one club they hate most....Arsenal.He broke the same unwritten rule that Owen did. Some may say what about William Gallas or Pat Jennings?Neither came out of Spurs or Arsenals academy.Okay you could include Bentley. He came out of Arsenals academy and plays for Spurs.
The good thing is we got the best years out of him,and he's at the best place for crocked former internationals....Old Toilet.
I agree, looking at his career, his best was past in his last season with us, he went at the right time, we would not have won the Champions League the following year had he stayed
I completely agree. He's busy showing off his prem medal, but Howard Webb contributed more than Man Uniteds title win than he did.
There are several reasons why re-signing MO is a big NO 1 - His skill is/was solely based on pace. Now that he's lost that extra yard, he's really ineffective as a striker 2 - Following on from 1, if he ever tries to exert that sort of pace in a match, his hamstrings will let him down 3 - As said above, including him in the match day squad will deny one of our younger players the chance to show what they can do 4 - His wages will be too high 5 - Part of the NESV remit is to sign either young, up & coming players, or proven players at the peak of their ability. Owen is neither 6 - He's a Judas and would not be welcomed by large sections of the Anfield crowd
Owen was an instinctive finisher and a very hard worker for the little service he got in a defensive Houllier team. He was good in an England shirt too and was their main scorer for a time. Lets not forget what he has done becauuse he sold out by going to United. Besides he was never a sort of player to get bogged downb in all this bile like Neville so, being completely objective there was nothning wrong with him going to UNited, so many years after leaving with a fair few clubs between so.. fk that leave it out. Owen was fading around the time he left Liverpool and was never as good when he came back to England after warming Real's benches though that was the time to resign him, not fkn now LMAO
Wanting Owen back is the same as wanting to buy the S*n. No real Liverpool fan would ever consider either ever happening. There are countless reasons why he can't return, I can't think of a single one as to why he should.
The reason why Owen thought it was okay to play for United is down to him being a evertonian. We've had other Evertonians however that would never have dreamed of playing for United like Rushie,Macca and God.Then again Everton have had reds play for them too like Leon Osman,Peter Reid,Dave Johnson,Jose Baxter,Tony Hibbert,Gary Ablett,Dave Watson,Phil Jevons.
even if good enough he cannot come straight from united anyways, he would ahev to spend a year or to somewhere else and be good enough, and young enough
BBF Did you know that list I mentioned are all lifelong Liverpool fans that played/play for Everton. Plus do you know the real reason why Howard Kendall hates Liverpool,it actually has nothing to do with him being an Everton fan. Kendall in the 1960s was at Preston, and he was a one-time team-mate of Gordon Milne and Peter Thompson at Preston.Shanks signed both Peter Thompson and Gordon Milne from Preston, but declined to sign Kendall because he didn't want to make Preston,Liverpools feeder club.Kendall got the hump and thats the reason why he doesn't like us.
I wouldn't see the point in getting Owen back. Would only get in the way of the youngsters coming through and how many games would he actually play for us ahead of Kuyt Suarez Carrol and possibley another summer addition? I do still have a soft spot for Owen even though hes currently a United player. The amount of goals he scored for us and the FA Cup final where he stole it from Arsenal will live long in my memory! I've head rumours that he might be signing for Brighton who are my local club (I know I'm a Liverpool fan not from Liverpool but it's a family thing) so I wouldn't be too fussed by that as I'd get to see him hopefully do well in the Championship and get Brighton promoted!! Not sure how true those rumours are though but all fun in sitting and waiting.
Maybe Sir Moanalot will let his son have him at Posh.Well league 1 is currently his level. He's no longer up to much else.
All Owen really had was pace. Not a bad dribbler of the ball, but it was mainly his pace that got him past players. Now he's lost that, he hasn't got much going for him. His positional play is just ok, which'll let him nick the odd goal or two. But we don't need a player if that's all he's gonna provide.
He's more interested in horses. Is Ruud Van Nistlerooy his new best mate.Or is Coleen McRooney his bit on the side,as she has a face like a horse.
This sums up MO perfectly: http://www.thedailymash.co.uk/sport/sport-headlines/capello-sends-owen-highlights-dvd-201105263870/
