Well for me this is fairly simple, yes he would score goals and yes he is a quality Championship player. But would Bent score goals in our team last year at the start of the season? Doubtful, the problem is not those upfront it is those supplying it.

If Matty Fryatt gets the balls and the supply he will score. As a club we are not rolling in money, so why pay 1 million which could be half of the budget we have, who knows, on a position that is not key to us. We have far more vital positions we need. Surely that is obvious?

just a thought. has Chopra scored goals consistently for anyone else but Cardiff?

Not really, at least not at this level, but it's a bit like asking whether Giggs and Scholes have scored many goals for anyone other than Man U because Chopra has only really played Championship football for Cardiff.

Watford he got 5 in 4 and 1 sub appearance during a loan spell early in his career.
Forest he didn't score in 3 and 2 sub, also on loan.
Barnsley he got 17 in 38 and 1, that would be a loan in L1.
Then he joined Cardiff.
He joined Sunderland for 2 seasons in the PL getting 8 goals in 22 and 17.
Then he rejoined Cardiff, first on loan and then in a permanent deal.

EDIT: His 2 years at Sunderland included the return to Cardiff on loan.

I'm fairly sure that 4 of his 5 goals for Watford came in one game (7-4 against Burnley).

rather Darius Henderson, would add some muscle up front.. you always need a hard sod in a good team. Where's our Ashbee, Brabin or Skipper now?

I'm not sure we need another striker. I'd really like to see Fryatt and Simpson (with a full pre-season together), Stewart and another winger supplying the front two with MacLean being our next striker.

If we get Danns then we will have a great team (IMO, or is that in my optimistic hope?).

as chopra has gone now its irrelevant, but some of the comments on here really confuse me...
a poacher might not be top priority, and you should maybe look at the more desperate areas first..but you should never stop looking to improve and add quality..
we might have simpson, fryatt and mclean, but chopra is in a different class to them all, in fact id gladly swap all 3 for him..

I'd swap him for Simpson or Mclean, but not Fryatt.

In fact I'd pay the fee Ipswich did and give them Mclean too. :emoticon-0120-doh:
