You're right 3rd eye- that's it, Appy's gone. It's just been confirmed on the beeb .. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/20242022 It's on there at around 20:06! Bye Appy- you will be missed. We're going down to League Two now ??
No owner. No manager. No squad. Players that are on 1 month contracts. God we're in a sorry state. I do feel for the players though - they were all persuaded to come here with no guarantees - by Appy. They must be very fearful for their futures. No matter how spoiled we think footballers are, they're still just employees who have been short-changed by someone they trusted.
Cant hold it against Appy really. He did well and he was dignified and Blackpool are in a much better condition that we are, so good luck to him. Now we move on. Guy Whittingham caretaker at least, roll on next match. Lets get a poll up with potential replacements.
Also, the Blackpool board's dead so there no point anyone heading over there to tell them what to expect.
You know what happens when the manager leaves- the team gets a lift .. We're gonna absolutely thrash and destroy Bury on the week-end, wait and see
I thought I saw £200k being banded around earlier, but now I've gone back to look for it I can't find it. After a late night watching the election results come in, perhaps I just made that up
He was supposedly the lowest paid manager in the football league, his compo will be pittance. Hope guy gets offered the job on a permanent basis myself.
Met applemort at goodwood this year and after ripping him for a bit I bought him a drink and he was a really nice genuine guy. His missus was pretty fit as well. Hope that helps ease your sorrows.
Is it possible that BC making his stance which is holding everything back has had a big say in Appy's decision to leave?
I thought of a bit of a theory in Appy's mind. Maybe he left because perhaps he knows what's going on behind the scenes, and he knows the next owner will be BC- who would probably make sacking Apples top of his priority list. So rather than be sacked- and having a "sacking" on is CV, he can leave for bigger and better things in the Championship. Plus a bigger salary I'm sure if the PST were in charge by now- he wouldn't have left. Over to Trevor Birch now to sell the club first, before we worry about a new manager! e.t.c ..
Not so sure there PL, you only have to look at where Blackpool are at the moment to see how attractive they are for a manager like Appy. Even after some bad results they are only three points outside the play offs and they have some excellent players - Ince, Phillips, Taylor-Fletcher, Grandin, Sylvestre and others.
I guess that's a better choice of strikers than just the one he has now at Pompey! Ince looks a good young player- the son of a former player who was good, as a friend told me the other day ... I wish Appy good luck, although I'm frustrated he's gone, I'm sure it's nothing like what he was feeling, near the end of his time at Pompey
