Heard Dio might be involved against Leeds?

 

I spoke to David Meyler outside the Etihad after tonight's game and asked when he hoped to be back and he said for the Rotherham game

 

It will be really interesting to see how he and Abel play together.

 

Highly unlikely. He hasn't even played a reserve game.

Hopefully akin to the Whitehurst / Bunn pairing. We need a big power forward who is good in the air now.

These days players get nicknames or affectionate name shortening when they haven't even kicked a ball for City!

Now players are even giving themselves nicknames.

 

I don't know why you're taking issue with it. A lot of players have names other than their family name on their shirt. Our very own Abel Hernandez, for instance.

 

That's more a South American thing.

Anyway certain City players have attracted instant nicknames. "Olly for instance. And then it turned out he was **** so the instant honouring was undeserved.

 

You're thinking of Brazilians. Aguero, Suarez, Messi and others have no issue with using their family name.

 

From Chilton & Wagstaff, Whitehurst & Bunn, Whitehurst & Edwards, Burgess & Allsopp who have been the best in my lifetime. You need a combo - one good in the air and one good on the ground. If Diomande is half as good as we hope he is then it will be great for Hernandez, the team and the fans.

Matt Taylor(25) @ Bristol Rovers is another who could be worth a punt in January.
