Sorry OP. To answer your question. He'll deliver rivers of talking ****e, say all the right things, drink in pubs with the "little people", take the piss, bang on about your "potential" and question your support if you don't turn up to games when Charlie says so.
It came across that way, not sure if he is in the series anymore as didn't watch it. But it came across as him agreeing with the boss. Only Louise had the balls to tell him politely he was talking ****e and someone else chipped in with its dramatic. Which it is in comparison to some 20 plus year old dance tune played by someone who thinks he is younger than he is!
Not much more that I can add that hasn't already been said, other than some Oxford fans did warn us about them when they first took over. Pity we didn't get it. The talk of hidden billionaires sounds very much like when Methven and Donald first bought us with talk of an "international consortium" and Spanish investors (I can't remember the name of the company it was supposed to be, but it's one of the biggest conglomerates in Spain). Even the name "MADROX" was said to mean "MADRid-OXford", with plenty of rumours going round about what happened about that consortium. I'm not going to repeat them, as it's too long winded and I honestly don't know if any of them are true. Anyway, all of that came to nowt with Sartori getting involved after they took over. Sartori has been an enigma here since getting involved, with rumours of a fall out between him and Methven and/or Donald at some point between the Checkatrade and play off finals in 2019. Whether it's true or not I don't know, but they've been floating around for a good while now. Most of us believe that the plan was to get us promoted quickly then sell for a profit and walk away. Maybe that last minute winner you got that stopped us was a massive blessing in disguise (even though it didn't feel like it at the time). I know people who've met Methven and their opinions aren't that high. The nicest being that he's someone who doesn't have friends, but instead business acquaintances, people are there for him to try and use as connections for his business life. Even a holiday in the sun is just an excuse for trying to rub shoulders with people and make connections. What was apparent after the FPP takeover collapsed was that he didn't like being questioned or people not accepting what he said at face value, though that had been happening for a while. By then both Methven and Donald had ran out of people to chuck under the bus to save themselves. All I can say is good luck, you'll need it and don't believe anything he says.
Just how embarrassing was that, the Sunderland Bus-stop Squadron turned up and kidnapped his daughter as she got off the bus home from school. Marched her home and discussed for 2 hours his investment in the club, before going home after a good laugh... more embarrassing was the journalist who reported on this story. Unbelievable Jeff
The problem with the story is that Methven and Donald lied in the first place to make them sound like big shots which is what confused the entire story. To quote Methven himself shortly after they bought our club: So the official story (and the one Methven now uses after being tangled up in a web of lies) is that they bought the club for £15m, with the parachute payments used to pay off debt. But the story that originally came from Methven was that the club was debt free, they'd paid £40m for it, in installments, and the final instalment was secured against the parachute payments as insurance. They wanted to sound like big shots spending £40m when in fact they were penny pinchers and asset strippers. When Sunderland fans question this, Methven threw his toys out of the pram, declared that "Northern people don't understand business", changed the official story (to what you see on the Charlton forum) and acted like he'd never said anything I've quoted. He may not be a thief, but he is a liar.

Thanks for all the replies. At the moment my biggest concern is that due to this Cayman Island company now being the only entity with significant control over the club (if the takeover goes through) and the fact that Cayman Island companies are not required by their law to reveal names of directors nor shareholders, we have absolutely no idea who would actually own us. You’d hope that the EFL would be all over that, but even if they are I don’t believe they have any sort of duty to reveal details of the owners to fans. Therefore would any of you be able to describe who actually owned you (and what percentages if possible) during Methvens involvement, as there seem to be very close parallels between the two ownerships. Cheers
Methven had a 6% shareholding, Donald 74% and Sartori held the rest, but initially only Methven and Donald held shares when they took us over in May 2018, Sartori didn't come on board until August 2018. Sartori is still on our board and now owns 36% with Louis Dreyfus owning the rest (64%). Edit. By the way, it could get much worse. Margaret Byrne could get involved with your lot...
And don’t forget this all happened during COVID when everyone was in lockdown and schools were closed!
Safe to say we shall follow his progress with interest then it'll tell us a lot about the state we were in at the time.
Thank you and thank you to everyone else who has replied. That’s just what I was after really. It’s rumoured that CM will be gaining between 5-7% of Charlton, which is spot on what he got with you. We don’t know who else will be owning us although it’s rumoured to be at least two American billionaires, but how much money they will actually put in if true is of course completely unknown. It could just be a repeat of the plan with yourselves, ie make cut backs, improve the football management and try for a quick promotion and then possibly sell on at a profit. It could work, but we have no parachute payments, smaller crowds and revenue and an abysmal starting squad. On the plus side we don’t have the same level of debt that you initially had as we haven’t just dropped down a league. We’ll just have to hope that we somehow manage to scrape into the Championship, possibly via the play-offs, as you know how good we are at that . Seriously though, thanks again for the replies and info and good luck to you next season. A proper club with proper supporters. Cheers
He will have sounded out a few people and taken a % as a finders fee, in hope you go up and can make a few quid. I hope it works out mate cos like most at SAFC we have time for your lot. The man is a chancing parasite though.
First thing, don't believe a word Methane says. Second, if its not nailed down, it's for sale. Expect lots of cost cutting, including staff. As for getting out of league 1....I would be looking down, rather than up. Absolute parasite.
