Of course, but an assist is a goal that you have had direct involvment in which is why combined goals/assist tables are a good measure of attacking effectivenss. Messi leads Ronaldo in both goals and assists

When we are talking about 63 goals and 26 assists so far this season I think those stats start to carry a bit more weight

 

I think Ronaldo's a self centred tool, always have done. Love the club not the player.

Neither player bottled it. They can't set the world alight every time they play. Chelsea had 10 players in the box at times, no one can dribble through that. Ronaldo played pretty well, just missed a pen, could happen to any player!
