You did though, didn't you? Which begs the question, why bother? You can't deny the fake tan message was from you. In another context it might have been funny, but in this instance you just showed a total lack of respect for a decent man who has been treated poorly. A lot of us feel genuine emotion about the ****ty way the club we love treated a man we respect and admire. Take the piss out of us if you like, but why post a message on a tribute site?
Right, first of all, lets get things in perspective.
Nigel Adkins may well be a decent man but over the last 2 and a half years, he has been paid handsomely for something that you could barely call "work". He is a football manager - a "job" that most of us would do for a tiny fraction of what he would have been earning.
His boss has decided he wants to go in a different direction and Adkins was no doubt given a very nice severance package.
I therefore wouldn't feel too sorry for him because in the grand scheme of things, he really doesn't have any real problems when compared with the struggles that those of us living real in the real world encounter.
Second of all. If one of your fans has decided to set up a tribute website to your manager, then even though I find it a little weird, go knock yourself out.
But we are football fans and there will always be fans of rival clubs that will take the opportunity to have a little fun when opportunities like these arrise.
If Adkins had left his job due to serious illness, then any mocking would be out of order. As things are, I see no harm in it.
The pant wetting reaction to the sacking of Nigel Adkins is quite astonishing. Yes it is a shame for you, but as Lamballana rightly said, your chairman has made some very good calls over the last few years and this may well be another.
