Funny how so many people have either disappeared or gone quiet a year on from when they took over.

I have got to know Charlie well during the last 12 months and I am extremely pleased that he's won lots of people over.

Some of our fans are still living in the past though if you read forums and other social media. Fortunately though that says more about them than it does him.

You can't help but like the guy.

Ivor is not happy with him now is he? He only includes him mate as a group without naming him, he names Scott and Rodwell but not Charlie boy

I remember that post :emoticon-0140-rofl:

I thought then as well as now… what a tool
All day long. Although we are talking about somebody who got a picture taken with squirrel face at Cardiff.

If peanut head was around long enough Ivor would have latched onto him.

For what it’s worth I don’t really believe we have an ownership problem or even a strategy problem. I think we have what has now become a serious problem of execution. In principle, it ought to be possible to address that without root and branch change.

********
Ffs, this beats pretty much everything posted on there.

Not surprisingly, his bum chum Ridiculous has agreed with this.

Saying there is nothing really wrong at Charlton Athletic is the favourite pastime on that forum.

Mundell, SR and Bexley are all supremely good at it, if in slightly different ways.

Remember, that forum exists simply to antagonise the vast majority of Charlton fans.

This guy has swallowed the Methven Kool-aid in one long gulp.

Having emotionally invested so heavily in Methven & the failed SMT, he’s now determined not to be wrong.

No problem with the ownership <laugh> …we palpably ran out of transfer budget on 7 July after Docherty’s free transfer. Imagine how much sooner that would have happened had we not sold our best player to a promotion rival.

Mundell is also disingenuous…I see his SMT’s fabled 8-8-8 strategy is being laughed off , just as Methven’s horrific cameo in the Netflix documentary was.

I wonder how low the team / club will have to sink before these Methven Cult Absolutists finally see sense.

More Cult -like absolutism.

James Rodwell (now sidelined, I wonder why ?) was very clear on Charlton TV that 8-8-8 was the strategy the dud SMT were following to achieve success -

8 elite players (PMSL)
8 squad fillers
8 Academy products (regardless of whether they are ready)

The only reason Methven, Rodwell & Scott and their Greenham Common-like fellow travellers no longer talk about 8-8-8 is , surprise surprise, they didn’t have the budget to provide 8 elite players, or anything like it.

Worse still - this time last year we had 3 elite players by L1 standards, CBT, Dobson & May, and guess what, Mr Spock’s SMT allowed all three to leave the club.

SMT - sophistry & poor performance. 0/10.

Their fanbase fellow travellers - a slow hand clap.

8-8-8 was presumably something invented to impress the investors.
In large parts of the World 8 is considered a magically lucky number.
It's that simple.

Anyone who knows anything at all about football, including every sane Charlton supporter, knows 8-8-8 isn't even close to a credible strategy.
It wouldn't work even if it was fully funded and executed. And it has not been executed at all.
No wonder Mundell tries to explain it away.

It beggars belief that anyone can still back the SMT and the owners. They tried to get success on the cheap and it has backfired spectacularly. We are four points off the relegation zone. We only have a handful of players who are good enough at this level. It is a disgrace that a club our size is struggling so badly. I wouldn’t be surprised if the owners put us up for sale as it is not what Methven sold them. Years of struggling in League one.

I wonder who the elite 8 are in the eyes of the SMT?

I remember they were asked this on ITTV a while back - who are our 8 elite players ? - and no surprise Charles Hawtrey was bowled middle stump.

The answer you get is

“Small ….on his day”
“Coventry ….on his day”
“Aneke ….IF he could stay fit”

In other words … all blather.

We'd get relegated and they'd suffer it.

A corpse has more emotion.

I doubt anything would impress our owners beyond being offshore.

It’s pitiful when you look at it.

I can remember not so long ago going to Brentford away at Griffin Park when Phil Holder was their manager. We took as many that day as they had in the home end.

Fast forward 20 years & they are a PL club worth £400m …we are a two Bob pub outfit worth 3% of that.

Im taking a break from Charlton for a while. I'll be back when Jones has gone and the cowboys who are running the club have fled thecrime scene too.
He’s finally seen the light !
