The best part of our new side is the central defensive three, and the wing backs. Ignore what Barry Davies aka TC is saying, you won’t find many better units in this league than Mitchell, Jones, Gillesphey, Ramsay, Edwards/ Small. The CM positions are more of a concern. Its laughable to hear numpties slagging off Anderson, Campbell & Kanu when 33 year old star signing Godden is injured already, and we still have no creative player or natural forward pace out wide.
I reckon we’d have been a much better attacking threat if our volunteer scout, Wrexham supporting, prawn eating “fan” was listened to by the puppet master
It was a really gruelling trip yesterday. I didn’t get in till after midnight and at seventy years old I am getting too old for these trips. But it was worthwhile. I totally agree with the above post. Defence last Season was our weakness, it is now our strength. We were very solid. Everyone put in a shift and it looks the fittest Charlton team I have seen since the Premiership days. But, there is always a but, we are lacking flair. There were far too many long balls. We lack an option wide to take on defenders. Also a number 10 to thread a pass or get into the penalty area. Perhaps the new Jamaican can be an option out wide. Can we also stop criticising the homegrown players like Campbell. He didn’t get much of the ball.
He is beyond clueless about football. He memorably described a future England keeper as “No Hope Pope” Anderson, Campbell & Kanu are getting it now - all will go on to have good careers, and Kanu possibly a top level one. All they need is game time and experience. They have been played ahead of summer signings like Berry and Godden for a reason. I am all for criticism of a player but let’s also have some context and an explanation of just why they are so bad…it’s because they are not ….they are plugging gaps because of wider issues at the club.
The Global Moderator is currently claiming the moral high ground on ITTV - berating CL for a bullying culture. In other news, Pavarotti has started giving advice on dieting.
I loved the criticism of Leaburn jnr saying he only gets into the team as a result of who his parents are. Then later has his photo taken with him: I seem to recall the same thing with Chris Powell….
If we batter our way out of this tin pot league we’ll take it. Nice to have faith in the defence and chest pains can be put away for the season hopefully.
Indeed. I’ve taken a ton of abuse over there for nothing other than disagreeing. The clique then weigh in to a/ deflect attention away and b/ to articulate properly and soften the abuse. Thankfully l never gave a rats arse one way or the other . But sadly I’ve watched some posters getting berated over there, ironically Bexley took most of the slings and arrows . Embarrassing thread tbh.
The Global Moderator’s hypocritical bullying thread about CL has backfired spectacularly Here’s a strange post from Red Dan 12 - I got a message sent to me on here (DM) because I had a disagreement with someone. It said I was clueless and they would like to say it to their face at the Valley. So it happens on here (ITTV) and definitely gets overlooked. Moderator Revillo has asked him to “name and shame” the person who threatened him. I wonder who the culprit is ?
Mmmm….lets see. I don’t think the culprit is BB - although he thinks we definitely have the best bullies at the club. I don’t think it’s Seriously Red - he wants to judge the bully’s performance after 10 more DMs. Nor do I think it’s Mundell ….as he explained to us all earlier, bullying is inferior to the SMT’s preferred 8-8-8 strategy. So with ITTV’s 3 most prominent posters ruled out, who does that leave
