Mert may be slow, but find me a better CB in the PL when it comes to positioning. He's always where he should be.
True and his interceptions are fantastic. And I seem to remember a certain Tony Adams being pretty slow as well.
He reminds me a lot of Sami Hyypia during his Liverpool days, the only difference I see between them is Sami Hyypia was very comfortable on the ball as well. Apart from that, they are pretty similar.
No. I never lay the blame entirely on one person. Im just pointing out the fact we are defensively weaker with Kos in the team rather than Mertesacker.
I agree that the first goal was kos fault, but not the second, that was TV fault as he gave away a stupid free kick. He was caught way up field, as had to sprint back, and could not get goal side. If he was in the position he is suppose to be i.e central defence that probably would not have happened.
You have to remember we play a zonal marking system. The last THREE goals we have conceded were all in the area Kos was supposed to be defending. Vermaelen should'nt have giving away a freekick but for the first 5-6 games of this Season we have looked solid from set pieces. Koscielney is back in the team and all of a sudden it looks like a weakness again.
Why is everyone blaming Kosielney for the goals? It was Vermealen who gave away both Free Kicks with his silly rash challenges when the player was going nowhere. Both CB had a part to play for the goals conceded.
Wenger needs to ban all centre backs from crossing the half way line unless we're 2 goals behind in games
