    Gtf ,how would i know.<laugh>

I was there lad, went to the home legs of every round, the away leg of the St Etienne tie and the final in Rome.

In those days it was pay at the turnstiles on the day/night of matches, there was terracing on 3 sides of our ground, the Anny Rd,the Paddock and the Kop thats that was approx 40k/75% of the total attendance and your having a laugh with your bs story.

So the imaginary flags were left on the steps of the terraces.<laugh>

You do raise a good point and in the piece I read about this it doesn't actually say but I am guessing that it wouldn't have been too difficult to just give them to people as they went through the gate. No numbers where mentioned so if it was 100 or 10000 is immaterial,Liverpool FC gave away flags to fans at that game. You should be happy,it's more of your 'istory to brag about.

CP we've had loads of argumentative banter lad,but the only things that were ever given out in those days were local newspaper ****e for FA Cup semi's or finals(which weren't at Anfield),and CP there was no way the turnstile operators in those days had time to hand anything to supporters going through the 'turnies' except their change especially in the Kop.

You always make assumptions and try putting words in peoples mouths don't you?
Firstly I said MAYBE they gave them as they went through the turnstiles and secondly why do you assume it was the turnstile operator and not someone else along side him.Thirdly,as I pointed out this was your first EC semi so maybe it was done to mark that special occasion. You keep on lad but it is a fact that you did it and it is a fact that there is no record of it happening prior to this at any other club.

Your turn to twist words and make more excuses........

Flags were also given out V Dinamo Bucharest in the 80s too.

You should have seen the dippers taking their Runners Up flags home in their plastic carrier bags after the Cup final. They were made up: on Ebay before Stevie collected another loser medal v Chelsea

Plastic This is Anfield sign anyone.

They loved taking their plastic runners flags home after the Cup final

We'll spot some in the Kop next season and we'll be all over their site.

I read about this Dynamo flags a few months back in the Echo. There was one for sale on eBay and the club historian authenticated it.

I didn't think things could get any funnier out of Analfield but they are making a right screw up of getting a new manager.
The top 2 candidates are lower half managers so that should help them for next year.
    **** club with **** fans.

I was at both the St Etienne and Zurich games in '77. In the Paddock for both. NO plastic flags given out by the club.

Now, if someone had bought a pennant, either from the club shop or the stalls outside the ground, then I'd believe the story.

Yes I was, fartface. Not all supporters of all clubs crawled out from under a rock when a Russian billionaire turned up. Supported Liverpool since 1969, boy. I also went to the 1970 semi-final replay at OT when you fluked that one.

As for Everton - oh dear.... Our worst season in the league for a generation and we finished behind Everton for the fifth time in 45 years, but still beat them three times pretty easily (including a FA semi) and won trophy. Ten more years of Moyes if that's the best they can do.

Hmmm, you'll labour long and hard to find that quote from me. BEFORE Dalglish was appointed I was espousing both Martinez and, ironocally, De Matteo. In fact, read my posts and you'll see how I've mocked the attitude of some (a handful at most) of Liverpool supporters who were calling for the likes of Guardiola, Mourhino and the like. Not in the least bit disappointed with Rodgers though, but I have no fears about competing with YOU for a top four place, Ironic, given your avatar, that you're not in the top four either...<doh>

As for Everton - they got seventh and a semi-final, so yes, by their standards that is an open top bus and a commemmorative dvd season. They'll leave three games out of the highlights though...<whistle>
