? ? That's what I just asked and you've said "no" then basically reversed that by saying only the onfield ref can recommend. Doesn't make sense.
'Wrong' is a flawed premise for most situations though as basically every rule is subjective outside of pitch markings and who ball came off etc. Really it should only be used for the absolute nailed on ones like Tarkowski the other night and like you say there should be no need to send them to the screen. Well really they should just scrap it but that's never going to happen sadly.
Would be happy for them to just check offsides for every goal, outside of that it's on the ref. Referees now just completely bottle any decision because they have this 'fall back' with VAR. But then they don't want to undermine their pal so you end up with ludicrous scenarios where the most obvious decisions are just not implemented.
Yeah refs definitely avoid making decisions now cos they have the VAR back up. Almost certain that's what happened with the Mateta head injury a few years back.
It is working in other countries The level of our officials is not good enough imho Or it’s corrupt ? Tixi been found guilty in Spain so it’s not beyond realms of stupidity something is definitely wrong though
Pickford should have been sent off: https://www.footballinsider247.com/...fter-red-card-offence-in-liverpool-v-everton/
