Anyone talking about Eddie not being the right man etc needs their heads checking. The over reaction to a loss never ceases to amaze me. He quite simply doesn't have the tools to quite compete at the level everyone seemingly thinks we are entitled to compete at nowerdays. Partly because of injury. Partly because it takes more than 2 years to turn a club who were perennial relegation candidates into challenging for major titles. The football is good, we score goals, don't let in many. Don't panic.
Nobody is saying he's not as far as I'm aware, but I don't think his intense style of play, tendency to never make changes and lack of rotation are proving unsuitable for this fixture schedule. Has Eddie Howes style of play been tested at this level? The answer is no and it's not working in my opinion.... it's super intense and unfortunately it's proving to be our achilles heel...just too many games. He is more than capable of making changes to it and learning like anyone else.... or like the rest he could just say it's luck. .... surely it's ok to wonder about more thought through explanations?
Yes because most the time I'm replying to people being aggressive or unpleasant who have a different view and I reinforce mine. I firmly believe our style play will need changing following this season. I mean I suppose the coming month will tell us more but I've seen this coming... seems too much for the players. Have a good day mate.
I think a quick glimpse at when some players got Injured and what injuries they have will tell you this for the most part isn't true. I actually agree that at some point it will happen without rotating more but most of those players haven't played anywhere near enough for it to happen yet and Barnes Toe, Wilson notorious Hamstring, Tonali being banned and Willock and Targetts lack of game time this year don't support it.
Absolutely injuries do just happen, but measures and making changes can increase or decrease the workloads and chances or them occurring. It's the accumulation of everything including how tired the players look. Almiron looked like he'd woken up on someone's couch after 15 pints. We're only just coming into December.... it's all good people can and will disagree, but I am convinced.
No absolutely, but Almiron would have had a rest by now if Barnes and Anderson weren't injured, or burn and.Target for that matter and have Livramento playing there instead. We will see what happens when we have a full squad I think Howe will realise the error of not keeping everyone match fit and overworking the same 11 like he did last season, he took time off after Bournemouth to go learn from experienced coaches,so he's open to changing and Improving.
I absolutely agree I think he can learn and this is part of what I've been saying. He's only human and he can only learn through experience....he's got no experience at this level and unfortunately it's not working out in terms of squad management. I'm sure he'll make changes over the coming years. If he doesn't then he may well end up being replaced but he's got plenty of credit in the tank.
I think part of the reason the injuries are the way they are is the lack of rotation at the start of the season. But the freak injuries may also be to do with the demands our style of play places on the body. High intense pressing is not easy. But the season will be defined by the points tally at the end. Everton just wanted it more last night and some of our players didn’t play well.
Our players were almost incapable of running last night in the last quarter of the game... we actually saw this vs man united aswel.....psg Bournemouth West ham the list goes on. The players are burned out it's plain to see because even our fast players looked slower than Coleman. The players also look pastey. That said they played poorly they lacked any intensity whatsoever in the game.... ...... Howe got schooled by Dyche last night and I think Everton are a decent side actually. Newcastle are just not that good and the season has caught up.
The thing is though I don't think we have played many if any more games than at this point last year due to the world cup. We didn't rotate that much last year and we played this style. A lot of this is simply down to the injuries and the Tonali suspension. Many of the injuries, as pointed out have been impact injuries rather than muscle tears which shows they are trying to take precautions. Wilson's popadom muscles can go at any time. The Murphy one is the only one I think we can say was management fault due to them knowing there was a risk before the game.
Time will tell mate I'm just the type to look deeper and be bold in my assessments no matter how unpopular they are. I think we can all agree on that.
Not read all that ****e back there.... Just caught Howe got schooled by Dyche utter bollocks and that removed any inkling of curiosity I had. Lads are ****ed, however, if we'd have taken even one of our chances (Miggy, Isak and Gordon x 2) before Trips made that mistake, it'd have been a different story. My mattress is dry and will remain so, but we really do need some players back to help out asap. I'm going to Spurs Sunday and I'm expecting a hard watch, but if we avoid defeat, you can all thank me for it.
Stats in the first half tell a story. The legs were not gone then and they had a lot of chances. Had they took some the game would have been over by half time. The lads are knackered though. We are not equipped to deal with the volume of games with the injuries we have so it’s expected.
What tactical masterstroke did Dyche make that swung it? If we'd have taken one of 4 big chances, they'd have buckled. The crowd was dead in the first half. Same in the second till they scored, and unfortunately that rejuvenated them and we capitulated.
Exactly even before a ball was kicked this season all the people in the game and fans with more experience playing in multiple competitions predicted this would happen and they have been proven 100% right. Some of us (myself included) also expected to fall back for year or two, but many didn't listen then and will continue to not only ignore the evidence but also take issue with us. I recall everyone predicting this being ridiculed and I take a vindictive approach when they do that.
They sat back when we had the ball and went direct when we failed in our approaches. It was clear to anyone with a basic understanding of the game and it worked unfortunately.
Yeah I love the way Dyche skilfully made Trippier give the ball away for their first two goals without which they wouldn’t have scored
