Arsenal, Liverpool and Chelsea all drop points in home bankers and we go to a tricky away ground and win in impressive fashion.

And two stats to make you smile:

Tottenham have won more points (38) from their last 15 Premier League matches (i.e. since the two losses to Utd/City when we had nowhere near our current first team) than Man City and Man United from theirs (both 36).

And if we carry on at this rate of point scoring, we will finish on 85 points.

It's my 18th birthday tomorrow so these last couple of days have been one big early birthday present!

Lets all got drunk to celebrate our excellent half season <diva>

No booze for you SL, you have to wait 'til tomorrow :D

Christmas, birthday, New Years?
That'll be some hangover!

Happy Drunk Week.

But let's interpret the stats correctly. Utd are the form team- 8 wins and a draw in the last 9 games- during which time Spurs have lost ground.

Why use 9 games?
In what way is that preferable to 5, 10 or the originally stated 15?

We don't have refs digging us out like you do, either.
Joke red card and a joke penalty, too.

Spurs played well tonight and Bale showed his match winning qualities. Very impressive.

But let's interpret the stats correctly. Utd are the form team- 8 wins and a draw in the last 9 games- during which time Spurs have lost ground. You're going to have to keep winning and winning to stay within range of the top two. You're going to have to win against the top two as well, I suspect, to challenge them. Trips to Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool will be significant games too.

We haven't lost ground on City, the league leaders in that time, though. Of course you're the form team when you take a specific number that lends itself best to United. If you took a round number like 10, then we're equal.

Doubt it would have made a difference to the result, PNP.

The red card came at 1-0, SNIAW.
No offence, but Wolves showed how fragile a lead that it today and no amount of dominance ensures a result.
One set-piece could've resulted in Man Utd, who had no centre-halves, being pegged back and losing confidence.

Why use 15, which conveniently ignores your games v the top two, but not their game against each other?

Close of the transfer window and represents the form of the current side, rather than one missing Parker and Adebayor, while half of our squad were also injured.

Why use 15, which conveniently ignores your games v the top two, but not their game against each other?

Because 15 games is the number of games since the transfer window closed and we've had anything near our first team. We had Kranjcar and Livermore CM against Man Utd ffs!

Edit: Just seen PNP's post!

Let's look at the table then and make some more meaningful judgements.
We are half way through the season (nearly), so played every team once. Now is as meaningful a time as any.

You seem to misunderstand, Lidls.
We were missing important players and their back-up, too.
Modric had also had his head turned by Chelsea trying to tap him up.

Utd may have been missing players, but you've always got the extra man in black to help you out, eh? <ok>

I just thought it was a rather pointless stat, PNP. Look at the whole picture, not a selective part of it. All teams have injuries- Utd seemingly more than any other team. City have had the shenanigans with Tevez, as well as Balotelli. The problems afflicting Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool have been well documented, to our collective amusement <laugh>

So Spurs are no special case.

But I'm not taking anything away from Spurs, who look as good as any team and I don't doubt that you can challenge for the title <ok>

It's significant because it shows that Tottenham have been able to [slightly] outperform the top two teams over a long period. Yes it's selective but it makes a good point that perhaps we're better compared to those above us than those below, which up until now, has not been the case.

Best of the rest? Win our game in hand, and we're a lot closer to the top two than we are to "the rest"

We really have Lukey rattled. His comments are getting less and less complimentary about Spurs as I suspect no matter what he says he is starting to fear that Spurs could actually challenge his beloved Man Utd for the title this season.

Living in the past again, Lidls?
You're starting to sound like a Scouser... <whistle>
