    Rafa signs it off as well, as he will do with our other decent young lads like Mbemba, and Mitro - BUT don't worry we'll get Skrtel, Torres and Xavi Alonso out of retirement to lead us to the 2005 Champions league if that hasn't gone....

    To be fair though if Rafa pulls off Loftus Cheek, Kenedy and Zouma off Chelsea (or similar) I'll forgive him and as @Albert's Chip Shop suggest's maybe bend the knee (I'd get on both knees for those 3 on loan/transfer tbh)

    Certainly possible. Rafa will have to sell to buy. So far, he has done okay. Not perfect but okay. If this is real, he will have a plan.

    Complete guess, but I'm wondering if it's down to him wanting games - guess the form of Shelvey/Diame kept him out of the team second half of the season and assume this would be the starting pairing in August

    I read somewhere recently that PL teams can only loan one player from any other PL team. So, you'll have to pick one of those and be happy.

    No you are correct having looked it up:

    Restrictions on how many players Premier League clubs can loan from other Premier League/English clubs.
    They are:
    - Premier League clubs may not register more than two players on loan at any one time.
    - The maximum number of loans registrable in the same season is four, and, under no circumstances, shall more than one be from the same club at any one time.
    - Premier League clubs cannot loan to another Premier League club a player they have acquired in the same transfer window.
    - A Premier League club may loan not more than one of its goalkeepers to another Premier League club

    Buy Kenedy and Zouma and loan RLC! £40m budget gone and I'll allow Rafa to move on whoever he likes.

    Kurt Zouma is god awful, he's one of the main reasons Stoke where relegated.

    Merino has the potential to be a top class player so it would be madness to sell for a measly 13m which is nothing these days considering he's a highly rated Spanish Under-21 international and we all seen how talented he was until he got injured. It would be stupid to sell him in the hope that a 31 y.o. Diame can replicate his form again over a full season, sell Hayden instead.

    Maybe if he's homesick and one of the big clubs in Spain want to buy him for a good fee it would be worth considering but not for £13m to Real Sociedad.

    Surprised Rafa is selling him but the noises suggest he wants game time. I thought he'd get it as I don't expect Diane to continue in the same vein. Perhaps though Rafa has a cheaper deal lined up for a replacement and this is a way of further increasing his transfer budget.

    To be honest though I take it all with a pinch of salt. The lad is on holiday at present and while there is interest in him from Spain, I'd imagine he will consult his family and Rafa on his return then make a decision.

    He is home sick apparently. I say appararently because god knows if it is true. If not then it has me stumped as is a quality young player and I would be pissed if we replaced him with a dinosaur who used to play under Rafa 10 years ago.

    Think it might be another scouting fail. This won’t bite us on the arse like Thauvin but there were a lot of reports he was homesick in Germany. Who knows but sounds like we wasted yet more money last Summer. He and Murphy could have equalled one £20m striker.

    I'd take £13m for him. More than he's worth to be honest considering he's done nowt. Rafa will find another player of at least equal ability for £13m. Certainly get rid if he doesn't want to be here.

    I thought that he was our best midfield player before he got injured.

    To my mind, he's too good to sell.
